Trent had played at Kentucky, do you folks actually believe he would have been a 3rd overall pick? LF's success in college will have as much to do with where he signs as his talent level if not more.....

Relatively few RB's are taken in the top 5, but yes, Richardson could have been taken #3 if he had gone to Kentucky. Where did LaDanian Tomlinson get picked? Marshall Faulk? Talent trumps all to NFL scouts. If you think other wise, you simply do not follow the draft beyond where Bama players are picked.

Define disappointed? The schedule is a Bataan death march compared to the typical Alabama cream puff schedule with 4 actual good SEC teams, but barring massive injuries I figure 10-3 at worst.

you do realize how many guys left for the NFL right?

11, including 1 guy that didn't play at all last year, 1 guy that got hurt after the first game and a punter. It should also be noted that 6 of the 11 are RS Jrs, so while they could have come back, they were at LSU for 4 years. Losing 3 DL and 2 DB's hurts, but we do have talented young players to step up and played a good number of young DB's last year.

We also lost 2 RB's which really isn't a big deal given the 4 guys we have back. FTR, I agree with you about recruiting a RB every year (I also think you should sign a QB every year). Hill was originally part of the 2011 class so we really haven't singed a RB for 2 years. It will be really scary in 2014 if Hilliard and Hill both leave. But, 2014 is more of a rebuilding year than 2013 imo. We will sign 2-3 in 2014 and 2-3 in 2015. Both years are loaded in La, so going forward, everything will be fine.

Since saban's been at bama LSU has outrushed them head to head in FOUR of the SIX conference games.

LSU has gone over 200 yards rushing twice against the tide, '08 and '10. In '08, '10 and '11 the most rushing yards bama "D" has surrended has been against LSU.

LSU outrushed bama by
67 in '07'
63 in '08
123 in '10
52 in '11

bama's best game rushing against LSU has been for 176 yards ('09). Low mark has been 20 yards ('07) rushing.

I would say nomatter whose is at RB for LSU the tigers have done VERY WELL running the ball VS bama.

No the tigers will have the best backfield because of LF and all the OTHER BACKS on the roster with him. He will not be the only RB taken by LSU in '14. Tigers will take three.

Not all four current RBs at LSU will be gone after this season.

Miles allready has offers out to '15 RBs.

But LSU fans said even though Trent Richardson was better than any of yours, the 5 super great runningbacks at LSU gave the nod to LSU.

Just stick with one story.

Did you finish reading the post???

LF will just be the BEST amongst many very good RBs at LSU.

Leonard Fournette hype is legit. Sorry if this upsets Bama fans.

People in LA have been talking about this kid for 3 years. Its well known he is the best prospect to come out of LA since Cecil Collins.

We're all in agreement that he's a great player, he is however still in high school, none of us know how he will transition into the best league in the country. There have been many great high school football players flop out in this league. The Peterson/Jackson/Walker comparisons are silly

We feel pretty good about our potential at running back, as great as fournette is in high school, we just signed a kid that was better in high school.

Hammer meet nail. This is why the ridiculous comparisons are being made.

Pretty sure he won't have to, being that Hill is draft eligible this season.

The comparisons are to those guys when they were in HS, not what they were at their peaks.

yeah his running style is similar to AD. Which then turns into people thinking LSU fans are claiming he's the best RB since AD.

Gotta love the internet.

Right, these are obviously different things. Just because he runs like AD doesn't mean he'll have the career (at any level) that AD did.

But there is a lot of promise, obviously.

Hill may be gone by 2014, actually. The NFL draft rule is 3 years out of HS. 2013 will be Hill's soph. season, but he sat out for a year after high school. Thus, he will be draft eligible after this year, and if he continues to play like last year, he'll probably make the leap.

If not, he'll be around for one season with Fournette - and they would make one helluva duo. You don't want this to happen as a Bama fan.

I imagine there'd be a Lacy/Yeldon type split if that's the case.
