Tallahassee has a Guthries across the street from a Rasing Canes.

You’re really stretching this thing out to try and fit your narrative. I’ve said UGA’s staff develops defensive talent better than AU’s and you continue to try and deflect. We bring in a ton of talent but we also develop those lower ranked players too.

Nate Frazier commits tomorrow, on to the next one

I was thinking FAMU actually. I don’t think people realize how small the black proportion of the student body is at UGA-probably as much out of choice of the students as other things and the nightlife of the town reflects that as well.

These dawg fans have never considered FAMU. Bobby used to say as long as FAMU is around FSU should have no problem recruiting.

What's up with Gwinnett kids never going to UGA?

Theres something there for sure. Until I see someone from Buford, Grayson, etc signing I won’t believe we can land them.

Put in the initial call to the schools and the offer for some players to come to camp and an actual offer if you think the player is worth it, but the way life has played out, UGA has gained a lot more hardware looking through the weeds in other parts of Georgia. I would spend my time there rather than wasting it on recruiting these huge HS operations in Gwinnett.

quote:Why in the world are you creating some weird narrative that UGA "coaches them up", when UGA has had the top 1-2 most talented team in the country every year since 2020. Almost every guy on the roster is 4-5 stars... they are expected to play at a high level. To get on the field at UGA you have to beat out several 4 or 5 star players at your position.

because UGA not only gets the high ranked players but also coaches them up while also developing lower ranked players
For instance-
- Jordan Davis
- Javon Bullard
- Ladd McConkey
Also the mantra SEC Rant and opposing fanbases loved to shove down UGA and Kirby’s throat for 6 yrs was…
“Yeah UGA can get 4-5 star talent on campus but they cannot win a Natty and they cannot develop the talent.”
Would cite UGA not having a lot of high draft picks.

And you really didn't even scratch the surface. If all the 2* and 3* talent that contributed was mentioned it would shock some people.
That said, it's time to move on. Nate Frazier is next, and let's hope we have better news on the way with him.

Probably not. Nobody is going to stop recruiting him until he signs. I just choose not to invest any more energy to that recruitment. If we (or someone else) flips him, ok. If not, ok.

Kirby will keep recruiting KJ but he’s not going to change his NIL strategy for a Safety - not for any recruit right now. Maybe in the future but not in 2023.

Pretty sure he's done with KJ from what I'm hearing.
I'll say this, If what's going on with KJ and other recruits changing their mind at the last minute is true from what I'm hearing, not sure that Alabama, Georgia, etc. are not really winning in the end.
Ever done an auction in fantasy football? If you can get Pat Mahomes for a good price, that's great. If you can get a competitor to spend half his budget on him just so you don't get him, you're probably in even better shape.

I agree with the logic, but there are a few programs playing a different NIL game than the rest.
I have no idea if this is what they are doing or not, but let’s just use South Carolina as a hypothetical. They’ve gotten big time recruits two years in a row now that had interest in SC outside of NIL, and reportedly thrown the bag at both. So maybe they (or some other program(s), they are just an example) decide to go all out on one big recruit per year. If enough teams do that (especially with an expanding playoff and super conferences) then the big players may be forced to make crazy bids.
Like for example next year with Elijah Griffin, I would be shocked if South Carolina won’t try to beat anything anyone else offers him. He has real interest already and means more to them than he does to Ohio St, UGA, or Bama.

Norvell has tons of talent on that roster now.

Can you go in depth on what his strategy is? What numbers he isn't willing to go too.
I think that would be interesting to know how a coach views those things. I think Kirby and Brian Kelly are similar in their approach.
Only certain positions will get x amount of nil dollars.

We evidently were going above what we normally are comfortable with and he was coming. Coming as in Friday night telling us he was coming. Sometime early morning to noon FSU nearly doubled our offer. That's why I say Kirby is probably not gonna spend much time on KJ now.
