NFLU to say Orgeron was about to go 3-0 against Kirby was stupid
I mean, 2 parts of that are probably true and about to be true, not that crazy. Certainly no crazier than the other people who said Kirby will be 3-0 vs. the West this year, which I didn't see you lose your mind over either I might add.

Yeah because what you said was completely different
Here is what you said I said...
"we aren't really recruiting anyone in your class"
And here is what I said:
Seriously. I just looked at who LSU has committed, and I don't see a single name that georgia has recruited heavily.
I mean, we are now starting to recruit Tyrion Davis, but he is among 3-4 other backs we are recruiting.
There is a difference in not recruiting anybody and not recruiting some heavily. But, no. You don't understand that difference, do you?
ETA
Note. Nobody was talking about upcoming games. We were talking about recruiting only. So, you tell me. NFLU said that if LSU signed Emery, Orgeron would be 3-0 verses Kirby this year. No. he would be going 1-0 verses Kirby....which is still pretty darn good.
But that's okay. You just go all unhinged on us and start trying to stuff words in our mouths. It's a whole lot easier than just admitting you didn't know what the conversation was about.

Difference is I didn't go charging in and defend that statement. We might go 3-0 verses the west this year, but I would be shocked if we did. We should have a good year, but not nearly as good as last year. If we do have a year as good as last year, then that means a lot of our younger guys matured really quickly.

Again. We were talking about recruiting. So, yes, it was crazy.
Look, if you said LSU was not really recruiting any players Georgia was, I would not get all upset. Why? Because I know we really don't recruit the same players....for the same reasons. You just got all twisted up over a perceived troll. I don't troll. Look at my post history if you don't believe me. Newsflash. We don't recruit the same players Alabama, USCw, or Texas does, either.

I thought it was pretty clear he was talking about the game in that, since someone else mentioned it recently (3-0 vs. west) as well as the 2 guys we are going head to head for by your own admission, Davis and Emery. Which Davis is a commit now but half your fanbase thinks it may just be a matter of time before he flips cuz Dell McGee!

Can you please quote the exact statements on this?
What you've probably seen is some degree of confidence that we land ONE of several highly ranked backs. I've not seen anyone explicitly stated that Davis would be the one... At least not anyone that I actually give any merit to their opinion.

You really need to follow the thread. He made that statement that Orgeron was about to go 3-0 against Kirby before the conversations started about UGA going 3-0 against the west, so no. He definitely was not talking about the game. Now you are just reaching and trying to save face.
quote:I think you will be surprised at one of Davis or Emery. Both are going to be at UGA this week-end, and Davis is bringing his family with him. That would be an odd move for somebody that is not taking another school seriously. And, for your information, Dell McGee was the National Recruiter of the Year last year. He might be our best recruiter along with Pittman.

Again, you need to understand where Davis is coming from to consider how funny it is on our end you really think there's a legit chance of a flip there. The dude is a lifelong LSU fan that lives close to campus, his family is all LSU, he committed shortly after we offered over a year ago, he's been recruiting very hard for LSU ever since then. The chances of someone like that flipping is slim to none. Recruits take visits, this is the way things are now, doesn't mean they are serious about flipping to everywhere they visit, "Recruiter of the years" or not (doesnt matter). Also it hasn't been 100% confirmed if he will even show up yet. Recruits sometimes flake out, and you know on our end they are working on that.
I know they confirmed Emery has got the tickets purchased and heading there, but there's doubt there if Davis will definitely make it, and even then, didnt he say he may leave early to go to Bama? Sounds like something real serious there if he already said he may dip out to head elsewhere

Frome what I am hearing we are going after:
Cain
Sanders
Emery
Davis
the hardest. We are also looking at 2-3 more real closely. But no. I would not say a Davis flip is imminent at all. Thunderbird has a severe reading disability. he sees what he wants to see/believe.
On the other hand, I don't think LSU pulls both Davis and Emery, but who knows. I will go on record as saying that Davis has been quoted as saying he is solid to LSU, but if anybody could flip him, it would be Georgia.
Posted on 7/25/18 at 3:50 pm to DawgsLife
This one will be a challenge for Georgia. Davis goes to high school on Southern University's campus in Baton Rouge and is committed to the Tigers. But Davis says if anyone can flip him from LSU, it would be Georgia. And he plans to return to Athens this weekend for the stadium reveal.

UGA is trying to flip Davis also, I would definitely be concerned if i was a cajun.

Because Kirby has never flipped anyone that’s been committed for a long period of time before.

My point is that UGA wouldn’t use those resources if they thought that was the case, and they most likely have better information than anyone on this board.
Then the countless times posted "We think UGA gets one of Emery or Davis" or LSU wont sign both, etc...sometimes throwing Cain/Sanders in there too, I've seen it here and on 247.

And he was talking to a UGA reporter, you know, sometimes recruits love to play the game too.
Literally every LSU insider is saying there's nothing to worry about with Davis, he's all LSU and always has been, you guys are basing this all off an interview he did with a UGA reporter

Actually plays on the LSU campus, I believe. No. We understand, and we also realize how tough of a pull it would be. It is extremely hard to pull any kid out of anywhere in Louisiana if LSU wants him. Nobody is saying we will flip him. But we are not thinking it is totally impossible, either. Weird things happen in recruiting.
quote:Yes they do take visits. Usually not with their families unless they are genuinely interested, though. Especially all the way from Baton Rouge. BTW, it has been confirmed that he will be at our campus this weekend.

This is absolutely true. but the plan is to bring his family. If my kid were solid to a school and he wanted to go visit a school 500 miles away, there is no way I am getting into the car and driving that far for essentially nothing. You can believe what you want. Again. I am not saying it is a definite flip, but if I was LSU, I would be at least a little bit concerned.

I think you understand things here pretty well, some others in your fanbase, not as much though

But to add he plays on Southern University's high school, which is in baton rouge, but it's not LSU's university high school which is on our campus specifically.

This thread is about emery...not davis. I think most UGA folks know Davis is prob a lost cause, but we DO have a shot with emery.

I try to be fair and as impartial as I can be, but lets face it. we are all fans and we are all homers when it all comes down to it.
FWIW, I was born in Baton Rouge, and grew up a LSU fan. I know the pull the state has n kids that grow up in the state.
Some of my all time favorite players are LSU players.
Tommy Casanova
George Rice
Billy Canon
Bert Jones
Warren Capone
Ronnie Estay
AJ Duhe
all are some of my favorite players. I am familiar with LSU football. very familiar.

But yes, you are right. We have some fans that are over the top.
