This kid’s gonna be a really good one. Think LSU waited too long to make this one competitive, but it hate that we did.
I’ll be cheering for him on Saturday’s except when he plays LSU!

In all seriousness, thanks for these kinds of comments. LSU has an incredible class, and I know your class isn't hurt much by missing this kid.

Just hate to see a talent like him in LSU’s backyard slip away. But will always cheer for these Louisiana kids no matter where they go (in a respectful and decent manner of course)
However, I do look forward to seeing AM continue to rise and hopefully we develop a big rivalry over the years!

LSU was recruiting him this week. Which would be illegal if they knew that he had signed. How did they not know he has already signed?

He did sign apparently. And LSU had no idea, since they were recruiting him hard all week. I would have figured they had better insiders than that.

Honestly, I find it best to take everything those guys say with a huge grain of salt.
Signed LOIs have to be submitted to the conference within 24 hours and then they're submitted to the NLI. This should be pretty easy for sec member institutions to verify. Also, recruits are "legally" obligated to inform coaches that they've signed. If Gilbert continued to let himself be recruited after signing, then he committed a violation, so I really doubt LSU was recruiting him hard this week.
