Is Bama done at corner for 2014?

I have read Bama articles and possibly posts on the Bama recruiting thread saying Bama coaches plan to sign 3 CBs and be done there. With Bessent in the fold plus Humphrey and Roberts appear to be near locks is Bama indeed done at CB? I ask because Nick Ruffin also had Bama as his leader with Auburn second after this past weekend. TIA for any quality input.

Not yet. Roberts is supposed to be announcing today, but who knows.

We are still in the hunt for Tony Brown (please don't let this turn into a bitch fest) and Jalen Tabor, not to mention Humphrey.

I could see us taking 3 more, Roberts and Humphrey included.

I think we are for sure taking 3. A 4th would be determined by who the prospect is, or what our class is looking like.

Thanks for the input TS I am assuming Roberts and Humphrey to Bama. I guess what I am really trying to find out is does Ruffin even have a commitable offer even though Bama is his leader?

If I had to guess I would say that Ruffin's offer is contingent on his performance at camp. The only 3-4 guys I see who have a committable offer at Corner right now are Roberts, Humphrey, Tabor, and Brown.

Another guy who may earn a committable offer at camp is DJ Smith from Walton HS in Marietta.

Tabor apparently has the Vols pretty high on his list. We've already received a verbal from his friend and teammate, top 250, De'Andre Payne.

Apparently, Butch has also hired their high school coach to speak and assist at various coaching clinics this summer. Excellent move, that's the type of grey area tactics that land top 5 classes.

Sorry for not clarifying. I forgot there are 2 highly rated DBs with the last name Roberts. Yes Stephen Roberts.

In response to this post from you on the Bama board , me wondering if Roberts offer was commitable was a logical question given all the CBs Bama is in good shape with.

I don't think he was knocking you for it. He was just making a statement.

I wasnt knocking anyone for it. I had just remembered one or maybe a few auburn fans asking if he was a take in various threads.

Saw him on twitter ranting about he would never come to Bama. Said he was going to show Bama he was the best DB.

Then he should bring his arse to camp to prove it.

They told him he could EARN one based on his performance at camp. What's the big damn problem?

One thing to note, Ruffin is being recruited as a CB/S/Star for Bama, something the other prospects have not mentioned in their recruitment.

It's basically what happened between Noel Ellis Jr and LSU last year. We told him if he wanted an offer, to come to camp and earn it. He got all pissy and his dad said it would be a cold day in hell before his son would play for LSU.

Then we gave him the old Curly Bill treatment and said "Well, bye."

Him not having great top end speed and shorter arms than the other guys at the camp probably wouldn't have boded well for his chances anyhow.
