Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze became the first coach in the history of college football to publicly admit that he cares about recruiting rankings. According to The State writer Josh Kendall, Freeze stated from Destin, Florida on Tuesday, "Unfortunately I do. It's almost like you are playing another game and you want to win, but I don't know that it's really justified."

So he's like those unemployed Miami coaches from a few years back that relied on Rivals in their recruiting department? Seems about right.

He produced results for Ole Miss last year. I think that's all that matters. Now he has to continue to do it.

That's a strange comment for a coach to make. What does he hope to gain from it?

just seems like he is putting unwanted expectations on his back for the recruiting season you know? He delivered well last year but can he keep it up?

Who knows? He's got us ranked in the top 10 in May of 2013 for 2014 so he's on the right track. We are in on some more big fish this year too so we will see.

I don't see Ole Miss getting 4-5 five star guys this year.

Agreed. Although to his credit I've never seen this much talk about us(in regards to recruiting that is). It's unexplored territory.

As an msu fan you may not be used to getting that talent one year let alone consistently but sit back and let Hugh do work.

Ole Miss fans got a taste of that sweet sweet Birmingham living. No going back now.
