Damn Dore.

As to Tennessee's 10 instate recruits... That deserves some recognition, especially given how much TN HS talent gets downplayed or called awful. I don't think anyone can argue UT's class wasn't elite this year so it's not like those are 10 scrubs. Both Middle, TN and even East, TN has started to up their HS game and it's paying dividends.

Having said that... Stay the hell out if you value your program. TN HS prospects are all terrible - always have been. Nothing to see here. And OM you better stop it with those wondering eyes of yours right this minute!

Maybe y'all need to stop pumpin', then. You got nobody but yourself to blame when the results get all over everything.

Essentially A&M doesn't really need any other state but Texas, LA, and AZ

Cutting me deep, bro (or sis), cutting me deep.

Seriously, I'm super-happy and yes, even proud, for Patton. Maryville kids really do need to get more notice -- all East, TN schools do. I just want him to lose one time a year.

Patton has big shoes to fill as East, TN kids have an outsized legacy in the SEC, CFB in general, and the NFL. Jackie Walker (first black SEC captain, first to black SEC starter, first black all american, and on and on), the Colquitts, Bill Bates, Reggie Cobb, and James "Little Man" Stewart were all from Knoxville and/or less than an hour away in the case of Stewart but they're hardly the only ones. Dobyns-Bennett just outside of Knoxville also gets overlooked despite sending an enormous amount of players to the NFL -- many of which never did get decent offers but again they're not the exception that people would have us believe.

And just as that's only naming a few names you might know from East, TN. This recruiting myth about TN HS talent needed to die ages ago and I'm glad the death knell is finally sounding.

I don't really count JUCO's when looking at this type of thing, it's just a different recruiting process altogether.

Sumlin is far more nationally oriented than any previous A&M coach since Jackie but that still means we get 75% or so from Texas. For 2015 we have 7 commits, all 4 Star plus, and all from Texas. With 25 million plus people that football is easily their #1 sport within 5 hours of campus there is only so much need to venture.

Still, I expect we will continue to take at least a few from LA and a few national guys.
