Currently right inside the top 10 since 2010.

I have a question. We have been criticized for being in a talent rich state and not getting that talent, therefore underachieving. There is a thread on the Rant right now saying this exact thing. Now that we are recruiting at where you all think we should have been all along, we are being suspicious?
Something is up? In the past Florida out recruited us regularly. Was something going on? Were y'all doing stuff the NCAA should have been looking into?
If Florida starts recruiting at a high level again, should we contact the NCAA?

1. Michel and Chubb were both NFL ready last year, but they both decided to come back for their senior year.
They both improved their draft stock. They were both injured and, for them, had subpar years. They came back to improve their draft stock, and they did. They are in the playoffs to boot.
quote:
2. They get the #1 QB who is basically going to be waiting behind a Freshman for several years, only getting package looks at best. His best case scenario is Fromm gets hurt and Eason transfers -- basically nothing physically within his power. He'll wait a minimum of two years before he's the ''starter'' should Fromm remain healthy.
Different styles. Fields will play. Count on it. Alabama has stockpiled players and QB's for years. We fully expect Eason to transfer.
quote:
3. They get the #1 and #3 RB when they already have 3 Freshmen sharing touches this year
No we don't! Swift. Period. Swift was the only freshman running back we had.

Add to that, we have stockpiled running backs for years!

Herrien
Again you don't know what you are talking about. Herrien will be a senior.
quote:And you don't even realize we have something like the #3 number of players in the NFL, but you want to ignore it. Add to that, that the signing day came after it was determined that we were going to the playoff.
The thing is about mentioning the other teams like the 2010 Florida class and Alabama -- both of those coaches had won National Championships and were proven to put players in the NFL, so it makes sense.

I'm not going to say Georgia is paying their players, but I will say that it has been highly suspicious.
Even though most f the points you made were immaterial and incorrect. You are a troll that likes to think he knows more than he actually does. Just because your fellow Gators lap up your drivel without thinking for themselves doesn't mean the rest of the board does.

Wake me up when you win a national championship more recently than Auburn.
What is the expiration date on National Championships? I was unaware that there was one. is it the last time Auburn won one? If you haven't won one more recently than Auburn, then is ceases to exist?
Fact. This was Auburn's best year to get it done, just like it was Georgia's We got it done. Auburn didn't.
You can call us delusional all you want, but several facts remain. We have more wins, a higher win%, the same # of National Titles, More bowl appearances, more bowl wins, a higher win % in bowls, more conference championships and we could go on and on. Yet somehow Auburn fans think their program is superior.
How is this? We are superiro because we have the most recent SEC Championship. get back to us when you have a more recent one. Do you see how stupid remarks like that sound?
I would be surprised if we win the National Championship this year, but if we do, what will Auburn fans say then?

Oh yeah, some Auburn insiders are reporting Auburn is going to hire Shelton Felton as their 10th coach. He is currently the linebackers coach at Tennessee Chattanooga, but he is also Big Kay Bryant and Quay Walker's former high school coach. If he goes to Auburn, I imagine Quay Walker follows him

Herrien will be a junior next season (as will Holyfield).

Also, Hagans is from the state of Georgia as well as Elias King. We have been getting more and more players to stay home of recent otherwise our basketball recruiting hasn't really changed much. This isn't like Duke who almost yearly lands 3 or 5 Top 50 players. Hagans is likely to go pro after 1 year so we will need a ton more wins in recruiting for basketball to become relevant at Georgia but at least it's improving. These idiots in this thread have zero clue.
Georgia is going to be a powerhouse and they can't stand it. frick em

It’s all magically happening at once
Florida’s about to get back into the game too. It’s not something to apologize for or be ashamed of. There’s no point in turning a blind eye to it

Any booster that's paying basketball players during an active FBI investigation into college basketball should be taken out back and shot for being a dumbass.

But that's the thing: it's not happening at once. This didn't just occur over night. Its not like UGA just woke up on early signing day and said "welp, guess we're going to shock the world with 6 5*s today." UGA fans and people that follow recruiting knew for weeks that this was coming. It was said over the Summer that Kirby was going to tear up the recruiting trail if he proves that he can back up his talking by winning on the field. And not only did he win but he has won beyond expectations. So, recruiting has also exceeded expectations.
As for basketball, we signed the #56 player Rayshaun Hammonds last class. We signed the #75 player Tyree Crump the class before that. For 2018, we have the #104 player Amanze Nguzemi signed. So now for 2019, we have the #11 and #55 players committed (both of whom live less than an hour from Athens, btw) and that is supposed to send up some sort of red flag?
Man, don't be mad that UGA is finally catching some breaks and living up to its potential. We all had to live through Florida from 2006-2008. Turnabout is fair play.

McGee was an auburn man coming back home. Y'all must have been turned down and are now super desperate.

Because he would likely bring Quay Walker. That is the immediate reason.
Because he has been a coach at three or four different high schools in South Georgia and is well known in that area. I assume that is the area he would recruit for Auburn if he comes
Just speculation for now

Picking a coach because of a recruit is a clear sign of desperation
