Forgive the grammar...it's late for me. 1 game is hardly enough to fairly judge anyone, but here are some things I noticed.
From a schematic standpoint, he is everything I want at Auburn. He is very formation oriented and uses motions, shifts, and multiple TE's to try and outflank the defense. He uses the tight ends every way imaginable. He will use them as attached, split out, at the H back, or all of the above in certain formations. He showed the ability to line up in gun, pistol, and under center.
His M.O. seems to include 2 WR's, boxed or split TE, and some combination of a 2 back set with a TB and H back.
He runs some inside zone and designed QB runs, but he is heavy on the Gap Scheme(thank you Jesus). Counters, bases, isos, and powers, are the bread and butter of his running game. It is no coincedence that Temple finished
7th in the country in rushing, because he flat out knows how to run the ball. The unknown (as there are many) is whether he will stay comitted to the run when its tough sledding early in a game.
I did not watch the throw game as much, but picked up 3 things that I really like. 1) He attacks you vertically. He took several shots down the field, and seems to like to stretch a defense. 2) On 3rd downs, he throws to the marker. I cant stand people who make it a regular practice to throw short of the marker. 3) He involves the TE's in the passing game from the boxed and flexed positions. Any DC will tell you that when you have to truly account for 1 or more TE's in the passing game, it limits some things you can do on that side of the ball. Throwing to the TE is an underutilized weapon in college football these days IMO.
He had a terrible QB trying to lead his offense. He looked much different than Addazio did in his final year at Florida, and a heck of a lot better to.
Only time will tell if he can recruit, prepare effective gameplans, and keep a defense off balance with his play calling ability, but I certainly like what I have seen to this point.(which is 1 game)
I am convinced Auburn is a championship calliber QB from being back in the title hunt. Development of QB's seems to be his strongsuit. At the end of the day, Auburn might not have gotten who they wanted, but we might of gotten who we needed IMO.
He seems to know his shite.

Pat Dye wouldn't make it through typing all that without passing out.

One thing I can tell you without watching any film, is out of the 3 choices mentioned earlier today, he is the best recruiter hands down.
He also thinks he is a great recruiter.

I am not sold it is him just yet, but BMatthews made sure to tweet that he posted. So I don't know
He does break down the bowl game pretty damn good though.

Do yall really think Dye posts on a message board?

No, but I just joined for the free 30 days and didn't know if he was a guest blogger as a favor to PM. So that is why I asked. I also don't understand why BM would make a point to twitter that this guy had posted. So don't be too harsh with me.

I think it's safe to say if he really posted on that board they would have much better inside info on Auburn, as opposed to being flat out terrible like they have lately. Plus, having seen Dye give a speech last year before the champ game, that is way too coherent of analysis and posting for him to be doing on a message board.

Good stuff from Stat as always. I wonder how many different websites Stat posts the same info on each week? Must be several.

He's still doing stand-up, just not as much and not as publicly, but he's still making his money.
If only he'd give it to our recruits to get them to come to Auburn.
