Certainly appears to me at the very least there was some late movement towards Ole Miss...I'd guess he was thinking of committing to OM, but his parents and the LSU coaches talked some sense into him And/or calmed whatever concerns he had.
Regardless of how it played out, I'm just glad he stuck with LSU.

OK Ole Miss fans let me set the record STRAIGHT, and you can believe it or not, the process with Davon went as follows:
1. Davon interest in LSU began at an EARLY AGE. Always was his goal to play for LSU and he worked hard to attain that goal.
2. Tuesday, day before signing day. Davon prepared his speech for announcement day. Did Ole Miss make an impression on him YES. Tuesday night he still fielding calls from coaches and also high school players. At 830pm he talked to Kenny Young about going to LSU. At 937pm GW3 called wanting Davon to join him with the Gators. At 1016pm Robert K. called Davon selling the Ole Miss program. His phone kept ringing constantly because of the RUMORS that he was waivering on LSU, which WAS NOT TRUE.
3. Finally at 1130pm we told him to shut down his phone, get some rest. Wednesday, NSD arrives, rumors are swirling, Davon, is unsettled about the rumors. He calls Coach Miles to let him know the Tigers will be getting his LOI. This was at 746am NSD. This is a brief statement on how it went down. Davon was and IS ALWAYS an LSU Tiger by heart.

Tigersmanager-No problem, just got tired of seeing Davon's name being dragged thru the mud by the Ole Miss faithful. He didn't SWITCH from Ole Miss to LSU, he was ALWAYS LSU. He learned about the great LSU Dlinemen at at early age. He knows the virtures of the pride of LSU from Leonard Marshall to Michael Brockers.
And from the time I educated him on those guys he was ALL LSU. Now i'm showing my age. lol

Thanks TeamLSU, the idiots on here want to believe something that came from an ole miss insider which is hilarious. I have enjoyed their melt thoroughly. Glad to have Davon!

Hey team, what was the deal with OM receiving an unsigned LOI? Joke someone played on them or something else?
Not that it really matters , just curious. It's obvious that DG has always wanted to be a tiger ...I'm sure he is fond of OM as well, it's a good program on the rise.

JPLSU-We don't know where that started about an unsigned LOI to Ole Miss. After Davon talked to Coach Miles at 7466am NSD he texted Malachi at 810am to see if he would be joining him at LSU, Malachi confirmed he would.
He then sent a text to KY to see if he would be joining him and Malachi and KY texted back he would be going out west. So Davon was recruiting FOR LSU until the very end. There was a joke Davon played on his mom about going to Florida, this was on Tuesday evening.

Thanks for the scoop...I was thrilled when we got the official word that he would be a Tiger, ...looking forward to cheering him on the next few years
His recruiting class is littered with stars and there's no doubt in my mind they'll get LSU another national title in the next 3-4 years.
