How is that a flame? The best of these 12 or so receivers that y'all have signed will stand out and benefit from the competition, but a large portion of them won't have more than a minor role. Some of them will be y'alls #7 or #8 WR on the depth chart that would be #1 or #2 at a lot of other schools. It's comparable to running backs at Alabama.

Nothing to be offended by. I just think it's a poor decision for some of the underdogs to take that big of a gamble. I wasn't speaking on Iheanacho specifically.

Damm Aggies are pilling up on quality WRs. Go empty set on all downs with that talent out side.

We only signed 6 last year and 4 of them got playing time this year.

We lose essentially three starters this year, and have only 2 non FR/SO receiver next year. We need the depth.

Signing 8 WR's last year wasn't enough for you greedy aggies? Over half of those guys will probably never see significant playing time at WR.

Lets take a deeper look.

2014
SRs
Kennedy - starter, 60 catches last year, returning starter, small chance he leaves for the NFL

JRs
Holmes - 17 catches last year, getting bet out by underclassmen and walk ons, chance of transferring.

SOs
Pope - 9 catches last year
Williams - 4 catches last year
Quiv - 21 catches last year, expected starter
Tabuyo - 5 catches last year, too many similar guys exoected ahead of him (Quiz, Noil, Larue)
Reynolds - JUCO, 3 star

RS FR
RSJ - 3 catches last year, rec med RS, expected starter
Larue - 4 star
Parker - 4 star

FR
Jeffery - 3 star
Noil - 5 star
Nacho - 4 star
Hall (?, might play DB) - 4 star

So we return 119 catches out of the teams 292 (WRs only). Outside of Kennedy we have no one proven. After Kennedy, most expect Quiv & RSJ to start, but that isn't a lock. If they do though that leaves another 3 guys to catch significant # of balls. We have 6 guys catch over 200 years, 4 over 600 yards, 2 over 800, and 1 ovr 1300.

I would be very surprised if RSJ didn't end up being a leading receiver for y'all over the next few years. His health is probably one of the few determining factors.

We can

But we have some RB talent too.

Trey - 5 star, tons of speed, needs more carries
Tra - big bruiser back with 7 TDs on only 62 carries
Brandon - 5 star who was stuck at 4th string last year
White - 4 star, redshirted
Nixon - 4 star, true fresh in '14.
Anderson & Bradford - 4 star, top 8 at their position, fresh in '15.

LSUsuperfresh, I agree with that. In very limited time he looked excellent last year. So fast for someone so big.

Is it ya'lls D cord? I mean, ya'll have recruited well enough on D IMO

No we've not filled up on D like we should, and it is very evident on DL and LB. Everyone talks about our DBs but it is damn near impossible to stop an offense if there is very little pass rush, and the DL gets blown off the line.

Our guys are young but we have some really talented fish. These same guys getting beat up have some solid experience now and will get bigger/stronger over the summer. We've got some serious talent at LB as they get better, and more should arrive soon.

I believe we can field a top 50 Defense next year. Remember 2 years ago? That was what a top 50 D gets us. The real question will be if we can get Johnny back OR have one of the young guys step up as a serviceable replacement. Our RB crew and OL are stout.

Who is flaming?

Imagine if I came on the Jamal Adams commit thread and started saying crap like man y'all signed a couple of S last year and have 4 this year. Over half those guys will probably never see significant playing time. It's using incorrect info to attempt to derail a thread. Take it to the rant.

Just read this on Nola .com, which kind of explains the weirdness of his brother's Tiger t-shirt. Looks like it's not a hard commit:

quote:

Look for Iheanacho's decommitment down the road, with a nod to LSU highly likely. The announcement he made Saturday was to appease the U.S. Army All-American Bowl folks and honor his word that he would declare during the game. His mind is far from made up, sources said. LSU is fully aware of the situation and won't stop recruiting Iheanacho.

Well then I apologize for bringing it to your attention. I wouldn't want to bring anything to your attention that offers any additional insight/information or which offends your delicate sensibilities.

Just letting you know since you like to remind us so often of our failures that you put us on your profile. I figured you liked the truth ;)

I'm just a mid-century history buff. I feel a responsibility to keep history alive for the three generations or so of Ole Miss fans who have no memory of an SEC Championship and may not realize it has ever occurred.

Just as I have a want for showing you how your media is spoon feeding you drivel that your purple and yellow masses eat up and regurgitate until everyone is tiger locks.

Not flaming. If you disagree,

it's not disagreement. It's false premise. We did not sign 8 WRs last year. Everything beyond that point is an inflammatory opinion built on that falsehood and really has zero to do with this thread

That morning he did. Leading up to that day he was calling for all 5. He also wrote an article about y'all's safety position that said that he had a source that Hampton was interested in LSU and was sighing anywhere other than OM. That's just off the top of my head
