Let's see:

A&M is:

Largest school in the SEC
Richest school in the SEC
Only SEC school from the biggest football state in the country.
Is about to have the most expensive stadium in CFB
Has facilities on par with anyone in the country and almost all are new.
Made a long term commitment to their coach showing stability.
Have one of the best game atmospheres in the country.
Is about to have at least 1 Top 10 Draft pick for the 4th straight year.
2nd in TV ratings this year.
Has a huge and very loyal alumni base.
Is a Top 25 Public University and AAU member.

Oh, and Kevin Sumlin.

Baylor, Texas Tech, Texas, TCU, etc...

Just posing good questions. I just think College Station is whack.

BTW... Hugh Freeze loves WWF wrestling and still writes checks at the grocery store.

This is a fun thread because aTm and OM are basically one and the same.....almost there, middle of the pack, never gonna win a title SEC schools.

It really is cute.....I'll bet Sumlin and Freeze are gonna get together and play poker and drink cheap beer together over the summer.

I've been to CS and I go to school in Starkville. I know what I'm talking about, chief.

Fwiw I love Starkville and enjoyed myself in CS. I'm just saying y'all are gonna have a hard time convincing "these people" it's a good town.

You seem upset about this whole Edna Karr fiasco.

I've had awesome times in C Stat and Stark-vegas. I'm a country boy born and raised and I can respect a town where you can go to a bar and listen to some twang, drink cheap beer, and hit on easy women all night long. More specifically I love going to C Stat where you pretty much can't walk into and out of a bar without hearing some Randy Rogers, Reckless Kelly, Wade Bowen, etc......but I doubt those things appeal to a man like Speedy Noil

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything; I was offering my message board opinion on your prior comments.

I'm glad you enjoy your town--that's how it should be.

What I said has more to do with where he grew up and his attitude more than his race.

One small difference is A&M could buy LSU and Ole Miss and make them into Annexes.

CS isn't anything like Starkvegas. CS Metro is 10X the size of Starkville and the school is almost 3 times the size. It's also an hour away from the 4th largest city in the US, 90 miles from Austin, and 3 hours from DFW and San Antonio.

Just because many CS bars feature country music does not make them the same.

Another difference being that we actually beat LSU this year and will again next year because their offense will be garbage

You boys always fall back on money.....This is kind of like the ugly rich dude that can't ever hold on to a hot chick and realizes that if he ever does get one it is because the only thing he has to offer is money. You obviously can't buy titles.

In size you are right......in atmosphere and the attitude of people and the feel of the place it is pretty damn close. Also as I said earlier I love visiting places like this occaisonally.

You are lucky you are at least an hour away....you probably miss the traffic by what about 15-20 min. I spend a lot of time in Houston too as a Stros fan and it is alright but it ain't no NOLA.

Austin I could give or take...DFW :yak:....San Antonio is awesome not much else to say about it.

It helps.

So one game against a top 10 defense in wet conditions from a dude that had played a total of about 5 minutes of college football before that.

Gotcha.
