Yes, because no nationally ranked QB from the state of Kentucky has ever turned down another SEC school to attend the University of Kentucky.

I feel kinda bad, b/c I probably should know who that QB is that you have in the picture, but I don't.

Drew barker looks like a 3 star in his film, and that's against KY competition...

I don't know what film you're watching.

I live in KY. There's only 3-4 good HS teams in the state.

Ive seen that film before.

I think drew barker translates as a diet Collin Klein. He's not athletic enough, and needs a lot of work on his mechanics.

Extremely long throwing motion
+ average speed/size = no niche.

I'm sorry you're upset, but don't let it get you down, he's going to UK anyway.

:trollolisweak:

#7 pro style QB on 247
#6 pro style QB on Rivals
#7 pro style QB on ESPN
#7 pro style QB on Scout

No matter the site, or recruiting analysts you think are the best, all 4 major recruiting sites have him in the top 7 for pro style QB's in the nation.

You really don't know who Tim Couch is? Really? WOW.

Yep, I couldn't pick him out of a lineup. I did google him and saw that he was a record breaking QB for Kent and had them ranked near the top in the country for offensive statistics. Although he only had a 5 win and a 7 win season as the starter. So I guess that's good for Kent standards, right?

It was good enough to make him the #1 pick in the NFL Draft.

My point was that just because it's Kentucky Football doesn't mean a top QB wouldn't want to stay instate to play for them. And honestly, it's a bit rich coming from South Carolina fans given your illustrious football history. You're certainly not Alabama (who Tim Couch turned down to play at UK by the way).

Cock fans, looks like Barker has the public invited for his announcement. I am guess he won't be picking up the Cock hat for this one. Stoops getting it done.

Noted. I'm not saying it won't happen. I can see that it's about a 80-20 split on 247Sports favoring the Cocks, but those are all just projections.

We'll see what's up in a few days.

Yep, we ain't Bama and we ain't LSU, but we sure as hell aren't Kent either.

Seriously, haven't we beaten y'all 11 out of the past 12 matchups?

I don't know if that means he's a Kent lock. Plenty of recruits invite people to their announcements. Like I said before, we'll find out what's up in a few days.

If he comes to USC, he'll have a lot of great competition at that QB spot, a solid OL (we've done well recruiting OL the past 3 years,) and a lot of offensive weapons on a team that just had consecutive 11 win seasons. If he goes to UK, he'll have the chance to be a "home town hero." He'll have to chose what he wants.

Are UK fans getting their hopes up based on anything? Insider reports, etc? I just don't see a lot of info out there that leads me to believe UK is the pick. Didn't y'all just offer another QB, too?

I mean I don't claim to know w/ any degree of certainty but I'd have to think the smart money is on USC at this point in time.

It's been reported a couple places (i.e. Rivals, Scout) that Kentucky is cautiously optimistic right now with Barker. I think some of it's based on his recent move to invite the public to his announcement. He's also said multiple times that he really likes UK OC Neal Brown and we've made some pickups at skill positions that would be of benefit in his class. The new staff has really made a push for him compared to the previous one and I think he genuinely likes them. I can't find the article at work but he's also made some comments regarding how hard it's going to be to tell someone he's built a really strong relationship with no and I know how long and hard USCe has been recruiting him.

Personally, I think it's a toss-up at best. I certainly don't think UK is out of it just because it's UK. I think this staff under Stoops has shown that they can land recruits from schools bigger than South Carolina. UK fans have a right to some optimism.

Yeah you'll have to forgive some USC fans for disparaging UK, must have short memories...

And FWIW, that's not necessarily a knock on USCe. We've recently pulled commits that were recruited by schools like Ohio State, Nebraska, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, and etc. South Carolina had also offered Thaddeus Snodgrass and we nabbed him as well.

This staff is just recruiting as well as I've ever seen at UK. Probably one of the more charismatic staffs I've seen in Lexington as well. They know what they're doing.

I've got a friend who follows OSU recruiting closely, said that Snodgrass has a lot of potential. Good pick up.

I think UK has potential to be a very good football school. I think that potential, though, waxes and wanes w/ the success of the Tennessee program. If Tennessee misses again w/ this new coach UK HAS to capitalize.

Yeah we're really excited about him. It may not show up in the W/L column this season but the staff is steering in the right direction IMO.

I think we can be good, at the very least competitive. I don't think it hinges so much on Tennessee as it does us FINALLY recruiting Ohio. There's so much talent there even after Ohio State gets their typical crop that it could give us a huge push and allow us to establish a pipeline we're not competing directly with the SEC for.

I'll own up to that. However, my comments were directed directly to a comparison of USC and UK, not insinuating we had this illustrious football history. I did mention that we've won 11 of the past 12 matchups, and that's legit.
