Good player and I can see him thriving at USC. Hopefully, UGA is able to land a few more LB studs in this class.

It was expected and UGA is after a few bigger fish. I still hate to lose him though.

He is a good player but it's not like Georgia can't replace him with a equal talented guy

I just hate losing instate kids that have committed to push for bigger fish. I'm sure we'll land a quality player, possibly even a better one but I hate it for the instate kids.

I can see where that could come back to bite georgia with high school coaches getting mad.

If y'all have a couple more you want to cut loose send them our way.

Just an fyi since I'm trying to respect your own boards recruiting thread but we were told weeks ago that he was being told to look around since we've made some moves on bigger targets but you guys can keep flaunting it as some major recruiting coup on your part

Honestly you didn't really need to tell us that as I'm pretty sure everyone on the board knows the standard georgia response when they lose a recruit lol.

We are one of the best recruiting programs in the country for 5 years running but, yeah, we are making excuses because a 3* LB flipped to South Carolina in May

I would expect guys like Marques Groves-Killibrew to be the next to flip elsewhere. With on campus recruiting starting back up, Georgia is in very good position with a lot of National guys. Westmoreland and MGK were takes when recruiting instate was essential due to visit restrictions but now that it’s loosening up…

It’s all good man. Y’all keep on beating your chests about how you stole one from the dawgs. Whatever makes y’all feel better.

You seem really upset about losing Westmoreland. Is it because he is a really good player or is it because you lost him to a school you feel is beneath you?

I really like his film and we need some quick twitch rushers. Glad we picked him up

So no one has even been on campus yet but you’re already in a great position with these kids?

Yes. Our staff actually recruits nationally and generates interest. Getting them on campus should close the deal, not be their first introduction to the program.

How often can Georgia accept a instate recruits commitment and then tell him to look around before the high school coaches turn against you

I think he is underrated. He will be an excellent pickup. My thinking is you will see him rising in the rankings, and he will do very well for South Carolina.

He showed a lot of improvement from his sophomore to junior year, and I suspect he will show great improvement from his junior to his senior year. If I am right you will have a really good player.

All that said, I do believe we told him to look around because we have players that we would prefer showing a lot of interest in us.

I think it works out to a win/win for both programs. South Carolina gets a really good fast improving player and Georgia is free to go after other players.

Congratulations on the pickup. I think you guys will be very happy with him. As you should be. It's not a knock on another player or program to say a pickup was told to look around. There are several players committed to Alabama and LSU I wish would be told to look around so we could scoop them up.

For that matter, I wish you guys had told Marshawn Lynch to look around.

There is no doubt it can hurt in the long run. And Griffin High School is an excellent program. I think it hurts a bit less when you do it earlier in the process so it gives the kid a chance to look around. it helps even more if you help the kid find another school.
Not sure if that happened, but with the ties we have with SC it's possible Muschamp, or Kirby gave SC a heads up that he was a really good player. Y'all can speak better to if he was on your radar before he committed to Georgia. I'm not sure.

I can't imagine. I mean we have some really good DB prospects that are interested, but I haven't hear anything at all about Groves-Killebrew looking around or the staff even considering asking hi to look around. Last I heard we were very happy to have him and he was happy to be with us....was even recruiting for us.
