Daquan Newkirk,a defensive end from Orlando (Fla.) The First Academy, committed to Auburn on Thursday morning.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Newkirk also claimed offers from Alabama, Louisville and Pittsburgh, among others.

How the frick can he not be rated if he had offers from Alabama and Auburn and is 6'3" 245 pounds?
Good offers, good measurables, his offer list shows some interest around the East, and not just the South.
Odd that he has no rating at all. I imagine that will change pretty soon.

Kid can run pretty well. Would surprise me to see him at 4 star, but he's most likely a high 3.

He's a high 3* type of guy, IMO. His tapes are average but he had good speed and has had some great camp performances. Gonna take a little while to develop, though

No one from Auburn heard of him before today either, and he clearly has an Auburn offer (otherwise how did he commit?)
The fact that you haven't heard of him just means that he was unknown to the recruiting sites.
