Thomas, who thought about committing on Christmas Eve, made his pledge shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday night over Arkansas and Tennessee.
Thomas visited three schools - Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee - in the fall and those were thought to be the places he would most likely land but when Muschamp and Travaris Robinson headed to South Carolina, the Gamecocks became an immediate player for his services.
Thomas didn’t visit South Carolina officially but has been to South Carolina before and is comfortable enough with the school to commit. He likes the defense that Muschamp runs and sees himself as a good fit. LINK

He is a nice player. FSU processed him, and I believe AU didn't have room.

Kid had 20 sacks from his NT position.
I watched the film on him - he reminds me a lot of Melvin Ingram straight out of high school. Identical size, really good quickness and power. Seems to be high energy and intense, quick to the ball, overpowers people with his bull rush.
Hopefully he'll develop into an Ingram-type player for us. We could use another Ingram.

This guy had over 20 Sacks and almost 30 total TFL's in 6A Dade County, that's pretty impressive. He'll be a good one.

The only coaches who wanted him at Auburn was Champ and Trob, so yeah Auburn didn't want him either.

I follow recruiting pretty closely and have never heard of this guy.
