That's funny. A recruit is told to look around last week and Butch is the devil. Butch cools on a recruit this weekend and he's been spurned.

Yep, number 6 DT and 80th overall on Rivals and Butch is telling him he has no place in the class.

In his own words he says he "is open for recruitment".

He decommitted because he evidently believes he has some better offers he wants to look at.

As I posted, selection of a school is a business decision.

The fact your school offered a recruit first, almost always ends up meaning nothing when it comes time to fax in the papers.

Well, yeah.

I'd do the same thing if I was committed to a school and Tennessee offered late. Can't blame the kid for wanting to go to LSU.

Nobody has 'cooled' on Giles. Quite the opposite actually - his recruitment has blown up since the completion of his Senior season. His Senior tape is ridiculous and he's got offers from big programs rolling in.

LSU has offered, which by all accounts was the one offer he was waiting for.

But another analyst pointed out that Giles isn't a LA native, he's originally from Wisconsin, so its possible the LSU offer doesn't have the same weight for this kid as it does for others in the area.

I did not know that and it certainly could play a factor with him being more open than most LA kids. However, we have to remember that he goes to St. Aug. Due to the success of Mathieu and Fournette, LSU will always be a strong favorite for kids from that school. In Nola, and St. Aug in particular, Fournette is extremely popular. The ability to follow in the footsteps of those guys is a really cool opportunity for kids from that high school.

I had never heard of him before, but if he blows up too much... watch out for the home school like always.

Nice call.

That's why he's visiting Arkansas.
