Good move by Florida. If he can be motivated (and this might be the best place for him to do that) he could be a really solid player down the line.

Anyone who gets playing time on a 10+ win SEC team as a true freshman has a ton of potential.

I mean, I feel good because we got a kid to come to Florida from Georgia and so it feels good -- I personally would not have taken a chance on him considering our current environment on campus. While I joke around with Georgia fans on Rant (since there's a no troll policy here), we've already had way more arrests than we should have.

Hopefully our guys are focused and we have the senior leadership to keep him out of trouble.

Congrats on the pickup.

Other than costing an IC spot, if he's a bad fit, it's an easy choice for Mullen to boot the kid... Frankly, he's in a "must behave" scenario or even if he finds a 3rd school, his chances of going to the NFL are shot. They'll take kids with legal problems, but outright "problem child" labels are tough to shake... you REALLY have to be a lot better than the next dude for them to put up with it.

I'm more curious to see if you guys seek immediate eligibility waiver for him (which would be a joke) and if so, how.

I wondered the same.
If kids can jump into the portal and become immediately eligible, I can foresee big problems in the future with bribing kids with money and cars......

Oh wait

I don't think he's going to play immediately regardless of the waiver, and if it were up to me he wouldn't have the chance.

I totally agree, but the problem is Florida is hot and the women are hotter. So many guys in every single coaching tenure get in trouble. Florida man is real.

He will have to sit out a year and maybe only play 1 year then off to the NFL

and there is ZERO reason to think he will get a waiver (not even a good made up excuse), but its the NCAA so its a flip of the coin

A LOT of potential there. If you can keep him focused and busy he can develop into a difference maker.

Hate it didn't work out for him at UGA, but it is what it is.

Chris Steele got a waiver because he missed his mommy.

Maybe Cox is going to complain about the weed quality in Athens.

He will get a waiver, our guy Solomon won't. Just because

He has a serious problem with authority, an anger issue, and a drug habit.

BUT, he is a SUPREME talent when he is of his right mind.

If he gets his head right he could be an outstanding addition. If not, Florida just got more toxic.

Hopefully this will be the wake up call he needs.

Have they given *no* response at all, or they gave a response and it's in appeals process?

There is a board for this, and it’s not the recruiting board.

As far as anyone knows, there has been no response from the NCAA as of now.

There is a possibility that Pruitt already knows and is keeping it secret because either

1) They said no and we are appealing (likely)

2) They said yes and he is trying to create some kind of competitive advantage (unlikely)

I haven't seen anything to back that up, just my 2 cents

I have no problem with this being on the recruiting board. It’s a team acquiring a new player.

Yeah... At this point, in the era of the transfer portal, it's would be silly to not consider it every bit as much a part of recruiting as JuCo pickups...
