And I'd be very suprised if he doesn't sign with the Ags to be part of the highest ranked recruiting class in college football history. I'm not 100% but think one more 5-star gets us there
Matthews isn't a 5-star. He's the highest ranked composite 4-star.

We don't have a whole lot of players from LA on our current team. The last I saw, State has more kids from Tennessee and Alabama than Louisiana. Wouldn't hurt for us to explore that state more since it's right in our backyard. Not sure how hard we're currently recruiting in LA

LSU doesn't hurt for skill guys. Where Bama hurt us in the past is OL and we got every single one of them that we wanted signed. We also got a 5* QB.
There might be some that freak out that in a transition year we miss on skill players, but anyone who was around prior to Saban knows that LSU is competing when they have studs on the OL. When we don't you get 11-11 over a 2-year stretch and a coaching change.

My first instinct when I saw it was Tuscaloosa was to remind him that this is a no troll zone.
However, his post is correct and is not done in a trolling way. He makes good points. His post is about recruiting and this is the recruiting board.
Which of his points do you disagree with?

He fell flat on his fricking face this cycle. We’ll see how he does next year. Woodward needs to realize his contributions for fundraising NIL deals will be ultimately the most important to keep the kids instate
Hard to blame Kelly for this cycle, though, don't you think? he hasn't been there that long.

Kelly is a terrible hire and continues to be a lazy recruiter. I knew he wouldn't move the needle with most Louisiana elite football recruits. Hire a young guy if you can't hire a proven championship coach.
You literally can't take anything away from a coach's transition class. Lets see how his first class is before making judgements.
Recruiting at Notre Dame is one of the more unique situations in college football since they do try to compete at the highest levels but also have academic standards above what most other schools have to deal with. Their state isn't really a recruiting hotbed, even though some states around them do produce some talent (though not at like Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Texas, Cali levels).

Somebody on the Alabama staff told them to say that.

Interesting. Can yo provide the link?

Why don't you prove it didn't happen?

So he has to disprove your negative? Are you a Democrat or something?
Posted on 12/30/21 at 5:54 pm to Tuscaloosa
Same thing happened in O’s transition year in 2016. I can’t think of a player we lost that we wanted during the rest of his tenure so I’m sure it’ll be fixed.
ETA: I went and looked and the only miss I saw after that year was Sopsher but Amite’s issues were beyond anyone’s control.

So you have no proof except your internet insiders that need to justify why kids are going where they are going because it will help calm down the emotional fans of your fan base. Got it so never happen but makes you better.
Understand now and thanks for clarifying.

It's negative recruiting right out of the Saban playbook.

Again please provide a link because I have yet to read any article by any recruit that Saban negative recruits. Every recruit I have read said Saban does not even talk about other programs. And since we know you do not have a link it sounds like sour grapes and nothing more.

You can believe whatever you want, but if you think Jimbo and Saban aren't encouraging recruits to speak poorly about LSU in the middle of a massive overhaul, then either you're an idiot or you think both of those coaches are.
Pull some high ranked recruits and weaken LSU at the same time. You think Saban and Jimbo aren't smart enough to take that opportunity?

You keep looking for for the elephant in the room as to why LSU did not recruit as well and continues to let instate players go elsewhere.
Saban does not need to negative recruit against LSU the program is doing a good enough job on its on to hurt its recruiting efforts.
In regards to opportunity for UA lets see how hard that would be to recruit a player without negative recruiting.
1) Every recruiting class under Saban has won a NC
2) Great chance to get to the NFL
3) LA WRs we just had a LA WR win the Heisman.
I could keep going but why because the point is the program under Saban is selling itself.
Jimbo maybe need to but I do not know if he does but Saban does not need to. But keeping believing that if it makes you feel better. We will put that in the conspiracy book with Saban signs players to keep them from going to other programs even though he does not want them.

We didn't recruit as well because we sucked and flipped the whole coaching staff. If Kelly isn't pursuing a guy who has his hand out before he'll talk to anyone, I'm okay with that. In state players will continue to go elsewhere because Louisiana is stacked with talent. About the only thing Ed did right was keep the best players at LSU.

LSU fans on recruiting.
Everyone negative recruits against LSU but LSU does not
Any LA player that leaves the state to go elsewhere we wish him harm, send death threats, and he is never allowed back into the state
Any player LSU pulls from out of state great even though he spurned the instate institution
Until NIL every player in LA only left because they were bought
I hope I summed it all up.
