What’s the deal with this kid? I assume he was processed. He is visiting Oregon and Baylor and 247 reporting he likely doesn’t sign with Bama.

Bama wants him on the OL. He wants to play on the DL. So, more than likely he won't be coming to Bama.

Oregon fans were hoping Cristobal could convince him to play OL .

It’s too bad the kid doesn’t know what’s best for him.

He was one of Alabama’s earliest commits in the 2020 class. A lot of hype early on but never lived up to it.

Most think he can be a great interior offensive lineman. But he seems dead set on DL. He seems to be waiting it out to the very end, until it’s obvious he will have to go elsewhere to play that position.

He suffered a pretty severe knee injury last season and hasn't been the same since.

He's 30-40 pounds overweight and lost his explosiveness.

Did y'all have to deal with his coach?
He was trying to get jayson and another kid quad brown on at Lsu?

GT has been trying hard to get Jayson. For a while it was GT and Bama. His dad is the driver here and is waiting for Bama to give them the green light to commit. That’s all speculation of course but the actions of Jayson all indicate he wants Bama but Bama is not reciprocating that sentiment. Hate it for the kid. Bama is his dream school. GT most likely is going to move on when he decided not to sign early. Brent Key worked hard but the kid seems dead set on Bama whether Bama wants him or not.

Bama's interest in Jones is only for OL, but he wants to play DL. To "flip" him, a program needs to push for him as a priority DL target.

Why don't y'all just take him as a dl and then when he gets passed up switch to ol

Oregon feels good about DL and depth. I think the staff is on the fence.

Nothing good would come from deceiving him. So, he knows now that if he signs with Bama, it'll most likely be to play OL, not DL.

If it wasn’t true then why wouldn’t he do it from the beginning. I know your ilk can’t fathom that Saban is a decent person.

He stated that he doesn't like Saban's negative recruiting.

Prior to his injury, he was owning guys like Clay Webb. UGA’s precious center commit who thinks he will play guard.

Yeah, I actually do. If you want to do some actual research what former Bama players say about Saban, you would realize he actually does care. Sorry he’s not a domestic abusing alcoholic

Baylor and Oregon are real possibilities. The hiccup with Baylor is whether or not Matt Rhule sticks around, but there is genuine interest there.

There are 2 suprise teams getting on him late and that could materialize over the next few days. He’s got real strong interest in one of those teams. So much so, that if they make the offer, you could see him flip prettty quickly.

The acl hurt Jayson’s progress Bc he put on weight, but he’s worked really hard to get back in shape and is almost back to his regular playing weight. He’s done well in practices this week.

He’s a good kid and a giant and will flourish in a big time S/C program. I personally agree that he has more upside at Oline, but I do think he can do well at DLine at the next level.

And Bama has not and will not process him. He has a spot at Oline and Coach Saban has gone as far as to tell him he can initially compete at DLine. Bama has asked him to blue shirt, but they have not processed him.

If he wants to stay with Bama he will have the opportunity to do so. Will be interesting to see things play out over the next few weeks.
