From New Orleans. Previously redshirted at LSU though don't know if he was a recruited player or a walk-on. Pitched at Delgado last season 7-2 recprd over 12 starts ( LINK) but with a pretty high ERA. Seems to be throwing pretty well in the the Northwoods league this summer ( LINK) 27 Ks in 21.1 innings. Not sure if he's going to be at Auburn for this upcoming season or the following one, but I saw on twitter over the weekend that he committed.

Obviously Tom Holliday, the stud pitching coach at Auburn who developed Carlos Rodan, the best left handed pitcher to come out of college in the last ten years, sees something in LHP Mitchell that Maineri was blind to. Oh, but what's new there?

You mean Alan Dunn, the best pitching coach in the country.

I'm not really a Mainieri fan, but it seems really strange that would want to shite up a baseball recruiting thread congratulating your team on getting a kid.

It's Rodon, and hardest throwing =/= best. There are still flaws in his game.

Was Dunn named the 2005 Best Pitching Coach in the Country? Oh no, that was Holliday. How many CWS does Dunn have compared to Holliday (hint: not even close). And Finally, if you didn't already know this, Dunn came out highly supportive of this kid. It was Maineri who "sent him" to Delgado according to an article last November quoting Maineri.

Do you realize how dumb it is compare career acheivements of two people who spent the majority of their careers in different arenas? How many chances did Dunn get to make the CWS when he was the head of pitching development in the Orioles organization?

ETA: It's pretty clear you're somehow connected to the kid. Why not try to have some constructive conversation instead of just shitting up the thread?

The thread got shitted on when inaccurate information was posted to begin with. My connection is with Auburn baseball, not the kid. It was not I who made the dumb claim that Dunn was the best college pitching coach in the country. You are correct, his career achievements cannot be compared to Holliday and it's pretty dumb to suggest otherwise. In the years Dunn has been at LSU, no baseball authority has ever bestowed the title of best college pitching coach in the country on him. It is clear that this thread was started and followed by die hard LSU baseball fans who blindly follow a Coach (Maineri) off a cliff. You know the guy who blew the CWS with the best talent in America. And I love and follow LSU baseball. Bring back Skip.

So your first ever post about him two years before he committed to Auburn mean wasn't an implication that you are connected to him?

You responded to me. What did I post that was innaccurate?

Wow. resorting to name calling. Shows how uneducated and ignorant you really are. Can't defend your BS arguments so just lash out and call names. You are not worth wasting any further words on. Go back to your uneducated waste of a life.

Tcu is getting a good one next season too. It's one of many issues I've had with mainieri over the years.

I still find it strange though that a supposed fan of the school I was genuinely congratulating decided to shite up a pretty benign thread.

Because he was terrible. He got lit up constantly. We cant have a spot for every bad player on the team.

He had a 5.13 ERA at freaking Delgado this last season

Not so much this last season, but Trent had a very good 2014. He didnt get the same treatment Mitchell got though IIRC. Mitchell just sucked, Trent had good stuff just had "issues" which is why he left. Mitchell was basically told he didnt have a spot on the team.

No need to be a dick dude. This was a good thread until you ruined it.

I am not too thrilled with this pick up. I know Holliday is a fantastic pitching coach but sonny is God awful and I'm afraid I Auburn Baseball will be bad as long as he is here.
