Baylor knows its place in the Texas hierarchy and that is tier 2 along with aTm and Tech. Ags, you need to accept your place, it's not so bad

Damn, I didn't know Baylor and Tech got SEC invites!!!!

Oh wait, they didn't. Baylor will be stuck in the AAC with other "Tier 2" programs like SMU and UH when the Big 12 GOR ends.

Your athletic accomplishments are on par with baylor and tech

Even if that was true, and it isn't, our fanbase and ratings are beyond what Baylor or Tech could ever dream of. Welcome to college athletics in the 21st century, you have to be this tall to ride.

Or did you forget how daddy set all your attendance records that will now never be beaten?

In Texas it goes.

Tier 1
Texas

Tier 2
Baylor, aTm, Tech

Tier 3
TCU, SMU, Houston, Rice, UTEP

And yes, the Aggies are athletic accomplishments are on par with Tech and Baylor. The last 20 years , Tech has owned the Aggies in football. Baylor currently has a better football and basketball program than the Ags.

That is not what the SEC thought when we got an invite.

Heck, that is not what the lawyers at Baylor thought in 2011 when Daddy A&M wanted to leave and they freaked out.

I won't even take this from you. I could pick it apart, especially the part where you are thumping your chest about a team that lost to UCF, but I will let you have it. I don't need to pick on teams with a shittier history than mine to feel better about myself.

Just give me a call when your "Tier 2" program has an invite to a non-Big 12 Power 5 conference without Texas being attached....

You're terrible.
No offense.
I can't for the life of me figure out the metric used for your tiering system.
For argument's sake, I'll concede Baylor to a higher tier last year; but Tech?
You just lost the scintilla of credibility you had remaining.
Keep on studying! You'll get there.

What about A&M and Baylor? Why isn't that relevant?

It has been shown in conference expansion that program strength isn't the determining factor on who gets added. The SEC added Missouri over a better WVU program. The Big 10 added Rutgers and UMD. The Pac added Colorado.

Ok, then why DID A&M get an invite that Baylor obviously didn't get?

Come on, don't quit now, you are SO CLOSE to figuring out why A&M is not directly comparable to a Tech or Baylor!

I will give you a hint in case you are struggling:

Because they are close to Houston and they fit the SEC profile of a large, state school with a large alumni base.

You can't convince me that aTm's athletic accomplishments are what landed them in the SEC.

Gotta get back to work. Later

TCU is close to Dallas, closer than we are to Houston. Tech is a public schools with a large alumni base. WVU is close to DC and is a large public. Why didn't one of those get the invite?

So close.

Because TCU is a private school with a small alumni base and shitty fan base. The SEC profile is large state schools with large fan bases.

Texas Tech, while a large state school is out in the sticks. Lubbock isn't exactly a media market in high demand.

WVU is close to DC and is a large public university. Why did we get the invite over them?

WVU is 3.5 hours away from DC. You should have said Pittsburgh because WVU is only 1.5 hours from Pittsburgh.

But to answer your question, Houston > Pittsburgh and DC combined.

The Houston market is huge. The metro area area has more than 3 times the population of the state of WV

If it is all about Houston and a large alumni base why didn't UH get the invite?

Because frick Coog High and their pathetic fan base. I am not denying that aTm has a great and loyal fan base, I am saying that their athletic accomplishments were not the determining factor for them getting into the SEC
