1. A common misconception that seems to crop up every few comments is that t.u.'s great recruiting class somehow equals success. I can point to the last ten years of the Sooners and several other "lesser" teams routinely kicking sippy in the teeth. Let me be the first to say: 4/5 star recruits does not a season make. There are too numerous examples to list. Which brings me to...
quote:
2. Sippy hasn't won anything on the field. Not in years. They will crow about how many committed recruits have A&M offers (like the opposite isn't true for the last, oh, fifty years, but we don't keep score). But they can't argue Ws or 3 out of 4 losses to Baylor for that matter.
quote:
3. College football is cyclical. Every now and then a player comes along (Vince Young, who is functionally illiterate) who brings a historically underachieving team out of the gutter, but history has shown that the cream always rises over time and the sediment drifts to the bottom. Especially when your team has more losses to Baylor and TCU combined in the last 5 years than your former rival does in the last 30

Everything you said is accurate, I challenge an aggy to dispute any of it.

Haha. Gay jokes. Silly aggy.
Side note- I'm impressed that you used the word "tome." Rick Perry, our state's biggest embarrassment and former milkman, seems to have really improved your vocabulary with his education reforms. Hooray for aggy!

The only reason I'm picking Texas over A&M is if I grew up a longhorn fan. Kind of like auburn/bama. Unless of course If a school's roster just straight up benefits me a LOT more than the other.
Simply put, players want to come to the SEC and play against the best. Even if you're on ole miss or a lesser successful SEC team, you get to showcase your talents against NFL talent every week.

The funniest part of this inane soliloquy is that you think you know who you're talking to

UTSA? No dude. I went to UT-Austin.

And even then, one of the biggest longhorn fans growing up chose A&M over texas. Before A&M rose in popularity in this era.
His name was Johnny Manziel.

Mack, in all of his wisdom, wanted to offer JFF as a defensive back. JFF rightly went with a school that would give him a shot at QB. But you're mistaken if you think Manziel chose College Station over Austin for any reason but that.

Has this argument worked for you in the past? Disregarding a poster's comments because you, for some reason, doubt he went to the school to which he professed to go?
What a super intelligent debate strategy.

First of all, I wasn't addressing you.
Secondly, I never insinuated otherwise. That's a major reason many players choose a particular school.
Thirdly, the point is that if a childhood longhorn fan turned out to be the biggest catalyst in tilting the recruiting field toward A&M in the state of Texas, the future is very bright in that department for Aggies.
Fourthly...shut the frick up.

You seem pretty insecure about your education

An A&M-Texas message board fight on the SEC Rant. Awesome.

How long do you expect that to last, honestly?

Serious answer is who knows. We arent in the same conference as texas anymore. I firmly believe that if we were in the same conference it would be inevitable that UT took back over as top dog in the state. We are in uncharted waters right now even though no one outside of college station wants to believe it.

Pretty damn long as we're in separate conferences now.
They're not going to be down forever. Not implying that at all. But them getting theirs doesn't automatically mean us not getting ours anymore. The dynamic is different than it ever has been in the history of this rivalry.
And please tell me that you're about to knight for texas
