There is never any evidence TA, the recruiting arena for big boy NCAA basketball is the nastiest most detestable thing about collegiate athletics. Football pales in comparison

HAMPTON, Va. – While the Alabama Challenge has struggled to a 3-6 record through the first two stops of the Nike-EYBL, Greensboro (Ala.) East big man Jimmie Taylor certainly hasn't made it easy on opponents. Standing 6-foot-10 and sporting a 7-6 wingspan, Taylor patrolled the paint to the tune of 8.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game through five games over the weekend.
Afterward, Taylor listed a top five that consisted of Alabama, Georgetown, Kentucky, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. All but the Wildcats have offered and some feel as though the homestate Crimson Tide may have the inside track in the early going.
Taylor, whose cousin, Erwin Dudley, suited up for Alabama and was SEC Player of the Year in 2002, said he's giving the Crimson Tide a long, hard look.
"I think about it a whole lot," Taylor said. "I like Alabama and their campus and everything but I have to make the best decision for me and if it takes leaving home I will."
In addition to his top five, Taylor says other schools are upping the ante on their interest as well.
"Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Louisville is coming hard, Illinois just started recruiting me Thursday. They offered me a scholarship."
Scouting Report: Much like a stud linebacker in football, Taylor is a player that you have to account for on the defensive end. You better know where he is. Taylor is constantly lurking around the basket, blocking shots and affecting countless others. He is athletic, runs the floor like a gazelle and is only beginning to scratch the surface of how good he can really be. His offensive game also looked like it took a step forward in Hampton.

XOFan.com has learned from a source close to his recruitment that 6’8 All-American Devonta Pollard of Kemper County HS, will not be announcing which school he plans to commit too and sign with tomorrow.
Mississippi’s Mr. Basketball is still having a tough time making up his mind on which school to pull the trigger on to decide with.
The rumor mill could be one reason why this long and rangy lefty is having a tough time making up his mind… With Georgetown master recruiter Robert Kirby leaving to become an assistant coach at LSU many are thinking that LSU is in the mix now.
We learned that Pollard will still pick from the four schools on his list. They are Alabama, Missouri, Texas, and Georgetown. No one close to his recruitment has mention LSU as a school he is considering at this time.
Many are now wondering if Robert Kirby move to LSU is causing Pollard to rethink is decision on which school to choose… His mom Jessie, said “it is Devonta decision to make. I’ll support him if he picks a junior college team. I just want him to be happy wherever he goes to school”.
As of today his announcement has been put on hold and there are no future plans when he will make a decision… Stay right here and follow XOFan.com for more updates on Devonta Pollard recuitment.

Yeah don't get me wrong I think basketball is always shady and full of wrongful conduct. But to continue to point to something in a particular case, I would think he would need more evidence to go on other than just blanket "this is the nature of college basketball recruiting" stuff.

Eric Bossi said this: Latest info I got today from somebody who had spoken to Devonta's mother within the last 24 hours was that he can't decide what he wants to do and that it's now unlikely that he decides this week.
Nothing at all would surprise me here.

Thats what you got out of that ?
I wish he would HTFU ! It wouldnt be so bad if our entire class didnt hinge on his decision.

The funny thing is even if we get him, we already have to recruit at his position ASAP for a commit in the next class or so.

Thats exactly what I got. Out of all the schools weve been recruiting him the longest probably. We are the closest to his home. I mean if he wanted to come here he would already know.

A source close to De Kalb (Miss.) Kemper County five-star forward Devonta Pollard says that Pollard has not come to a decision and as a result will not announce/sign tomorrow as he initially hoped. Pollard still publicly holds a top four of UA, Missouri, Texas and Georgetown but the Hoyas have slipped a bit as we noted over a week ago. Look for Pollard to announce something next week and possibly as early as Monday.

Yea guess you can look at it that way.Like maybe he really likes another school but is torn about going that far from home .We have been the constant and he has a great relationship with Grant so seems like if it was us it would be done with.
Who knows......They have been so tight lipped nobody has a clue.Maybe hes waiting on the highest bid
Hopefully we get him and have the problem of replacing him because he leaves early for the league .

I really don't have a problem with this guy prolonging his decision because I believe he is genuinely torn on what school he wants to attend and is not just doing it for the attention. I believe he was MSU bound before Stansbury "retired". He really probably was not thinking he would have to make such a tough decision.

I agree and think Mississippi State would've been the presumptive favorite had they had a decent to good season. As far as who I'd pick- if I had to I'd probably say UA with little to no confidence. I could see him picking UA, Texas or Mizzou and like thegame said, Pollard is torn to go along with playing things very close to the vest.
Well, that sounds some better.

I've already sent Pollard my last ten checks. I'm not sure what else I can do
Posted on 5/4/12 at 9:01 am to Bryant91092
Tell him if he doesn't come to UA then he's dead to me. That should get his attention.

I'll write him a letter with a lot of these :( and some of these >:/ and this one to end the letter -____-. That should let him know we mean business.

I think I have one of those notary stamps around here .
If Alabama and Pollard had a facebook relationship status would it be complicated ?
