Yeah this entire situation is bizarre. Mays was committed for two years and helped recruit a lot of the guys currently on the team. VQ confirmed he privately decommitted a couple of months before making it public.
He was also very adamant to Fulmer that he wanted Les Miles hired and now doesn't even seem to want to give the new VOLS coaching staff a chance to sway him lol

Mays has been wearing a Georgia hat around town for a month. I think he goes there.

That would make me absolutely sick. I will DISAVOW the entire Mays family if he goes to Georgia. Going to Clemson is bad enough, but Georgia would be the ultimate frick You to Tennessee.
Emmerson finna frick him up.

Think about how bad the UT administration had to torpedo the football program to make a legacy want to go to Georgia.
You should have disavowed the UT program by now if you were that easily rustled.

I think Clemson has a pretty healthy lead, but UGA official visit this weekend looms large.

Clemson makes the most sense. He can slide right in and take Hyatt's spot. Having Hyatt possibly be a first round pick is also a great selling point.
I will say that Hyatt is the best OT I have seen live in high school. I'm not sure how Mays compares to him.

Honestly, if we had hired Fulmer/Blackburn as AD last year, we wouldn't be in this position now.
I don't blame Fulmer or Pruitt for this, this is Lyle, Currie, and Haslam.
We'll still end up with a solid class and it appears we're finally doing some things we should have been doing for the last decade, but this one pisses me off.

I don’t think Mays is a kid that can plug in right away as a true freshman unless it’s for a horrid O-Line like VOLS have had. He averaged something like 40 yards of penalties per game this past season, and apart from Brentwood and Maryville, Catholic play a very easy schedule.
Might see time at guard but I can’t imagine him playing tackle early.

Looks like a last ditch effort to see if VOLS have a shot

As much as his dad loves Fulmer, it's worth a shot.

Kid's got 48 hours in Athens on his final OV before ENSD with Jamaree Salyer and Trey Hill meeting up to hang with him. I'll never say never when it comes to legacy recruiting battles, but I'm betting on the Dawgs when the smoke clears this weekend.

Holy cow, that's bad. Is he just living off of his size and name?

That's the feeling. Guys around the Catholic program have been saying this since before the season started. He's no Trey Smith, still a good player tho.

Hail Mary chance at best, but then again, we've hit Hail Marys against Georgia before
