Some steam behind the vols pitching him to play receiver, seems to be a Georgia, Tennessee battle for his services

Hard to wrap my head around Chaney selling an elite TE given how little he utilized Nauta. Gilbert must really want to play receiver

Pro money is at WR.
Have you seen the difference in the franchise tag?

Same way Georgia signs 5* WRs every year despite having 1 1,000 in the history of Georgia football.
Or the way Georgia continue to sign elite offensive talent when your new OC is the guy who wasn’t allowed to call plays at FSU, and who got fired from Miami, the one job he’s been able to call plays.

Coaches make little difference in recruiting. Kids commit to the school.
Me and a bunch of my buddies could form the staff for Georgia and pull top 10 classes. Conversely, the current Georgia staff could come to Mizzou and be hard pressed to crack the top 25 regularly

Stats don’t actually matter. 3 UGA WRs just got drafted in 2019 and a fourth in 2018.

Georgia is the only school to have a receiver drafted every draft the last five years

There’s no need to repeat what I just said.

Because they are bringing in 5* WRs every year, and these kids get drafted on ability alone, not because they were ‘utilized’ properly.
Glad you were able to figure this out yourself

What OC wasn’t utilizing them properly and where does he currently call home?

Riley Ridley, Javon Wims, Isaiah McKenzie, Chris Conley.
None of those players were ranked inside the top 247.

Considering Georgia has 1 (one) 1,000 reciever, id say there’s more than one OC who hasn’t been able to utilize WRs at Georgia.
Crazy that Georgia fans are so quick to shite on a guy that delivered top 5 offenses to Athens, especially when they replaced him with the offensive mastermind behind those great Al Golden Miami squads.
But back to the point at hand. Why would Nauta’s college career have any affect on Gilbert’s recruitment?
Talented Wide Recievers have been going to Georgia to run block for the past 100 years, and they’ll continue to do so.
Do you really think recruits give a shite past what is the trendiest program and who’s offering the most money?
Maybe for the kids who are being recruited by elite programs like Clemson and Alabama, but definitely not for nothing programs like Tennessee and Georgia.

Every team in the SEC could make a list of low rated guys that were day 3 picks. Don’t know what the point of this comment was

Kirby would have Mizzou in the top 15 classes every year.

Mizzou has a bottom 3 athletic budget, and he would be selling Columbia, Missouri instead of Athens.
Kirby would competing with Chad Morris for a spot in the top 25.

You said our WRs get drafted on being 5* talent alone.
I listed four WRs in the last five years that were not expected to be drafted coming out of high school, but got to that point at UGA.
Fail to see how it isn’t relevant.
