Are the people making the Nick Marshall comparison the same ones who said Stidham was killing it in practice?
Posted on 9/14/17 at 8:28 pm to Porter Osborne Jr
I never heard a lot of specifics of how Stidham was doing in practice. The hype was because of his recruiting ranking in high school (5 star), what he did at Baylor (average 300 yards a game passing in three starts as a true freshman), and his performance in Auburn's spring game ( complete close to 80 percent of his passes for around 300 yards). The media also hyped him because of those things. Of course he largely went against Auburn's second string defense in the spring game
The reason the freshman quarterback is compared to Nick Marshall is because of his running ability. Nick had over a thousand yards rushing the year Auburn played for the national championship. He was never a great passer.

I personally think Stidham will be fine eventually. Even Cam looked mediocre in his first 3 or 4 games at Auburn.
Auburn pulled out close victories against both Moo State and Clemson early in Cam's year. Even had to go to overtime to. beat Clemson . If you watched those games, you would have never believed Cam would win the heisman and lead Auburn to the national championship

Any news on fields? I remember people saying he was going to commit after week 2 games were done

I think the way things have played out have really thrown a wrench.
Fromm maybe taking over the UGA job is not going to help them.
Who knows what to make of FSU at this point.
Gus is still donkeying it all up at AU so we're probably eliminated.
At this point you would think FSU would be the front runner or maybe the window is open for somebody like LSU, USC, or even Penn State to get back in it. Who knows?

Ya with all the injuries, I agree its a shite show at this point.
I could see the appeal for each school but with the injuries and possible coaching carousel, who the frick knows.

Why is an Auburn fan melting all over this thread?
Posted on 9/15/17 at 9:04 am to DBU
Because we had a legit shot to get the #1 player in the country but Gus Gus'd it up.

Also because it is hard not to respond to LSU fans calling us delusional when nobody is more delusional than their own coonass fan base

The irony in this post is really, really strong.

Justin Fields tonight. Obviously, he can get rid of that shirt because Gus Malzahn would ruin him and his future.

Yep it's such a shame the dude wanted to go to AU but unfortunately we have Gus.

I remember when Dylan Moses wore LSU gloves to games his senior year. It's just gear.

If LSU hits fields hard I think they have a damn good chance at landing him.
