Find me a quote of a reputable UGA insider calling us a "clear favorite" pls and thank you.
Okay
quote:
This mornings 247 insider nuggets said UGA leads for Fields. I think it's one or the other, but Kirby will check with JF before he accepts Corral's commitment
From Glory, Glory in this thread.
quote:
Georgia insiders seem to think fields commits before Wynn, who commits tomorrow.
From Chasedeez88 in this thread
quote:
There is a thread called "Calling the Vault Insider Council " Basically every insider is saying fields to UGA with it probably being at the open. Bulldog Bob said it also and he is the most respected one, even more so then the staff.
Again Chasedeez88 in this thread.
Granted I have no idea who the insiders are they are talking about, so could just be message board heroes as well. Crow and Porter, you guys seem to be on the same wait-and-see approach as many of us are. It just seems as a whole, UGA fans are a little more dismissive of the fact that other teams are neck and neck with them.

But its not a recruiting analyst. It's a message board guy.
We're talking insiders, did I miss the part that said beat writers?

Seems to implicate 247 staff writers

quote:Can you actually find me a quote from that insider that says we're a "clear favorite", because this is probably a case of an insider saying that "coaches feel good" or something even more bland that people take and run with.
This mornings 247 insider nuggets said UGA leads for Fields.
quote:IIRC this was around the time of the opening, right after Fields made his run of visits, and there was a rumor that Fields was going to commit at that event. Just because some people thought he might commit at that time doesn't mean they were saying we were the clear favorite.
Georgia insiders seem to think fields commits before Wynn, who commits tomorrow.
quote:Bulldog Bob has definitely not said that we are a clear favorite for Fields, the furthest anybody on the Rivals board is willing to go is to say that "UGA coaches feel good" or "I like the spot we're in" which is probably the same exact thing insiders for the other 3 finalists have been saying since he decommitted.
Bulldog Bob said it also and he is the most respected one, even more so then the staff.
So to summarize, nobody who actually knows what they're talking about has said that UGA is a clear favorite.

Some of yall crack up believing these "insider nuggets." O believing that one team "leads" over another.
Posted on 7/16/17 at 12:40 pm to CaptainBrannigan
You think one team doesn't lead?

Just hoping for the best

Visiting Bama next weekend. We'll see who he takes on his visit there. I believe only his Dad took the trip to Auburn with him.

If Georgia gets this kid, he would become the 4th straight 5 star quarterback who couldn't even win an SEC championship.
Matthew Stafford
Aaron Murray
Jacob Eason
Justin Fields?
Georgia- where 5 star quarterbacks go to win absolutely nothing

Not really because there is no way to quantify what constitutes a "lead." It is just internet fodder.

This kid probably knows where he would go if he had to pick today. Of course, it would probably be a different school if you asked him about it tomorrow.

Take this trolling shite to the rant.

UGA is the clear leader and yall cheating assholes better recognize. Bulldog Bob said "JF has definitely been doing some recruiting for us . Great work Chad"

Jeez man if we're jinxed I'm blaming you.

Check the guy's post history. He has a 100 percent record of being wrong.
Guaranteed Aubrey Solomon was going to Georgia- wrong
Said Fields was going to commit to Georgia at the Opening- wrong again

Quindarius Monday just told Auburn's 247 site that he believes Justin Fields is going to Auburn. They play on the same 7on7 team.

Summary of where things stand, based on my reading:
UGA and AU both clearly feel good.
FSU seems less confident but optimistic.
UF seems to be fading.

I agree with this. The million $ question for me is when does JF commit? I think he is waiting to see AU's offense. If he schedules a commitment pre-season, think that favors UGA. Regardless, I don't think a firm commitment comes until later this fall.
