Nice pickup. I can't imagine this kid ends up at DT, but if you can keep him committed and happy at OG, he's going to be a good one.

(Note: That is not me imagining we take him... just seems kinda temperamental, so could easily see him changing his mind 1 or more times before all is said and done)

Biggest pickup on program considering he’s not from Kentucky or even a border state.

The goal now is keeping him.

Considering he has publicly stated he wants to play DT, is he an OL or a DL for UK?

If he wants to be on defense I’m sure our staff will give him the opportunity next Spring. We did the same with his HS teammate.

I’d say DL if I had to guess.

If we’re being honest him playing DT is a big part of why he picked Kentucky. We did the exact same thing with his high school teammate last year and it worked out.

I really don't get these kids. Congrats to UK, but he could be costing himself millions by not playing OL for you. With the two DTs we just got committed and what's already on the roster, he'd probably be an NFL guy if he beats them out. But he could perhaps start on the DL at UK for all four years and still only be at best a late round pick in the draft.

If he's good at his job at DT the NFL will notice. For example that Oliver kid at Houston in my opinion. I would be surprised if we asked him to start right away. Certainly get him in the rotation but I feel pretty good about our size and depth at DT and NT.

Who knows maybe he sticks with OG.

I would like to take a moment and praise our fellow SEC brothers as we all appreciate the gentleman's agreement to respect his commitment

I agree, but there are numerous guys good enough to start at programs like UK for multiple years and still go undrafted. It's obvious he has the makeup to be an NFL OG one day. At this point, need to be making business decisions.

Everyone talking crap.....look kid is making a business decision his build his better suited for DL than OL and he isn’t likely to grow much more. Congrats Cats and if he doesn’t work out on the DL he can always move back to OL

The Midwest pipeline was always going to be the niche for UK especially Ohio. Finally took a guy like Stoops to hit that trail.

Good luck keeping him from the those Midwest teams.

Kind of true, but Ed Oliver was a much better prospect on the defensive side of the ball than Rogers is.

ETA: still a great get by y’all.

This should be a top 15 class this year.

Nice recruiting bump after last year.
