I think that was the hope... try to get Cook in space to open things up... it just didn't work.
Worst coached game I've seen in a while.

The reality no matter what you want to believe is Kirby has really not done anything different then Richt his first 3 years on the field.
CMR-32-8(8-4, 13-1, 11-3) finishing ranked #22, #3, and #6 winning the SEC his 2nd year and going on to win the Sugar Bowl.
CKS-32-9(8-5, 13-2, 11-2) finishing ranked NR, #2, we will see. Won the SEC his 2nd year and went on to win the Rose Bowl.
He actually compares pretty favorably to Nick Saban's first 3 years in the SEC and absolutely demolishes Saban's first 3 years as a head coach.

Maybe recruiting like he is will change that but we will have to wait and see.
Of course recruiting will change things. That's the most important part of the job. Nick Saban was was a 15 year coaching vet when he stepped on campus at Bama. He went 7-6 with mediocre players. A couple of years later, after a couple of top recruiting classes he won a NC.

I dont think it has been reported, but Kipp Adam's (247 UGA) just put in a CB for Sanders to UGA. Looks good for us at this moment.

Does anybody really know what's going on with Sanders? Lol Seems like he's just throwing in a CB pick for the hell of it. There's nothing really definitive out there..battle of the 9.95ers!

UGA is a run first team and will have the best O-Line in the country next year. If he's positioning himself for the NFL, the smartest play is heading to athens.

Kipp doesnt usually put out CBs unless he is confident.

Like the situations were anywhere in the same stratosphere. That's just an assinine thing to boast.

Saban came into a much worse aituation, again, plus he won the BCSNC in year 3 at LS8u.
Kirby has done really well at UGA and definitely has y'all trending in the right direction. But until he wins THE Hardware it's just not a breakthrough over what Richt did for UGA.

He won it in year 4.

Richt never swept the East two years in a row, infact idk if it has been done ever. Atleast by UGA. Kirby is going to smash anything Richt did, and you'll see that with time.

Sorry, year 3 at Bama though... and that's a closer (but not as good) situation to what Kirby walked into at UGA.

Did Saban have to beat out a loaded Alabama team twice in his first 3 years to either win a NC or get to it? Sorry not a fair comparison.
Posted on 12/17/18 at 7:32 pm to CoolMtnDawg
Why is this board so obsessed with comparing Richt and Kirby? When Bama loses a recruit, they seem to revert back to the “Kirby sucks” or “Kirby is no better than Richt” argument. I wonder why....

He had to beat Loaded UF team. That had swept the east in 08-09 (only loss was Ole Miss in 08, undefeated in 09 til Bama.
So yeah, he a little competition.

Not even close. That Florida team had 3 players drafted that year. Alabama had 12.

Florida mod on 24/7 said Sanders let Texas and Florida know he wasn’t coming tonight. Not surprising but thought I’d share.

But Urban was a superior coach to what Kirby is now so that evens it out some.

Urban is a bitch. He turns programs into a thug house. Even you know that. Nick Saban is twice the coach Urban Meyer is.

I've looked for that and didn't find it. Was it Luke?

What? People were talking about Florida being the best team of all time in '09. Saban absolutely had to go up against a similar opponent that Kirby is trying to beat.
