Or legitimately facts. I don’t understand why you’re overcompensating here. He’s a fantastic player and could very well be a 5* when the next rankings come out. He’s not yet.
It’s ok. You still get credit for signing a great player.

Great pickup. You know, I’m really hoping LSU A&M turns into a bitter rivalry. I really like this kid and think he’s gonna be a great one for you guys.

Don't get me wrong, the King pickup is good for A&M but his offer list puzzles me. He's the #1 QB yet didn't get an offer from:

Clemson
Georgia
Ohio State
Michigan

he got "found" pretty late. by the time he became a mega recruit this spring, most schools had set their QB boards up and were recruiting their guys already. we didnt offer him until may and that was mostly due to the fact that we didnt like what we saw from our original guy (malik hornsby) this fall

This kid is puzzling to me. By all reports, he looked really good at elite 11 and the opening and obviously led his team to a state title last year in Texas. He’s got really good athletic ability based on his testing numbers. However, a number of people are torn on whether he will be really good in college or not. His offer list from around the country seem to echo that divide.

And he got an offer from us but we backed out. I don’t want to say the offer was uncommitable because I have no idea and maybe we would have tried to make it work. But it seemed we were backing out and saying we were happy with Finley and Johnson.

Oh and by the way, King wasn’t the #1 of the elite 11 for the 247 mods, so who knows if he will get a 5th star?

Well shite. That’s what I get for not really going on the normal 247 after the original post elite 11 reports. Is it A&M mods saying that or like the main peeps?

wiltfong has been banging his drum for being a 5* since the elite 11. he was on their podcast after the opening and was one of the guys he brought up as someone who will likely get the 5* bump. charles powers just posted an article today after the commitment where he was very complimentary and suggested that haynes will most likely get the bump

I’ve heard from some A&M people who follow the program closely that say Calzada has better tools but was rated much lower. What is the take on here?
