It's pretty fast, but 4.39 at any weight is very fast.

Speedy 2021 Edgewater receiver Christian Leary picks Bama over UF, Auburn (Orlando Sentinel)

Simply put, Leary is fast. His fastest clocking in the 40-yard dash is 4.39 seconds and ran the 100 meters in 10.5 seconds this year before track season was shut down due to coronavirus.

People need to understand the times being reported for rising seniors right now are from their sophomore years since this year they did not do the camps/opening stuff. So none of these times in their profiles are from any time very recent. Kids obviously mature pretty quickly from freshman to sophomore to junior to senior year.

If he ran a 10.5 100 this spring in track and field he's way faster than 4.56 40 right now unless he's just the worst starter in history but has Olympic-esque speed to make up for it.

Even rising juniors right now only have times being reported from their freshman years, so it's going to be way way off for them.

Leary is definitely a 4.3 or 4.4 guy. Just watch his highlights. He runs past everyone.

I have. Do you know how many high schoolers run a 4.2 40?

His 100M time is on par with Henry Ruggs and he ran a 4.2 on national television in february.

He might not run that now, but he will by the time he leaves. Our S&C coaches are among the best in the country when it comes to improving speed- Indiana's roster averaged a 2.5 mph increase last year for each player. They know how to get kids faster, and this one is already really fast.

4.2 or 4.5 is really just a pissing match though. Derrick Henry ran a 4.5 and was never once caught from behind in college. When you get south of a legit 4.6 you are hauling arse.

Actually with Bama commit Jacorey Brooks getting his 5th star today, Bama jumped Clemson for the second highest.

Bama is now 94.35, Clemson 94.32.

Actually 4.56 is fast , Jerry Rice says hello. But Leary runs 4.39 so get out of your mom’s basement more.

We just had a guy drafted in the first round that ran a 4.2...

But seriously he ran a 4.39 in spring of 2019. He has definitely has track speed and it shows on film.

Nice pickup for the Tide. LSU and Bamas WR class will be sick! LSU is likely to land 4 out of the top 10 WRs in the nation.

Was actually looking at this yesterday, if things shake out how they may, LSU/Bama will land at least 7 of the Top 15 247 WRs in the country, pretty ridiculous.

Most seem to think 4 - with the final spot going to Johnson, Cozie or Thomas.

Our current group was 9/10 before Shavers and Townsend left for State and Texas Tech.

Our current WR Room
OUTSIDE WR
SR - Devonta Smith (gone after 2020)
SO - John Methchie
SO - Xavier Williams
FR - Traeshon Holden
FR - Javon Baker

SLOT WR
JR - Jaylen Waddle (gone after 2020)
SO - Slade Bolden
FR - Thaiu Jones-Bell

Our 2021 WR Room
OUTSIDE WR
JR - John Metchie
JR - Xavier Williams
SO - Traeshon Holden
SO - Javon Baker
FR - Jacorey Brooks
FR - Agiye Hall

SLOT WR
JR - Slade Bolden
SO - Thaiu Jones-Bell
FR - Christian Leary
