What's the story on this guy? Former La Tech recruit that just got an offer from State a few weeks ago. Seems like a lot of the power 5 programs backed off too. Just seems odd for State to offer a 4 star and get him this late in recruiting.

Great get. For a while I badly wanted LSU to get him.

Who were the finalists for him? Crazy I’ve never heard of him

significant injury and P5 schools back off. State offered him 11 days ago and he committed today.

Because when healthy he’s an elite all purpose runningback. He has a significant knee injury last year and played on it this year while still recovering. Still put up pretty good numbers despite only playing 5 games. He’s supposed to be fully healthy and back to full speed soon. We beat out Penn State for him. He’s a great get as a second runningback in our class. Solid floor with crazy high ceiling.

Still really good numbers. He said he committed because he likes catching the ball just as much or more than carrying the ball.

I read an evaluation on him and it said he lacked the top speed to be a game breaker. That guy must have seen him playing with the injury last year.

His track 60m time of 7.08 is legit in the 4.4's or even better. That's not slow for a RB or WR in the NFL much less college.

The dude is plenty fast with break away speed and from his highlights could run through arm tackles well and didn't mind going inside at times. The question is: Will he be healthy?

Signing him late like this gave Mississippi State more time to evaluate his progress and make that choice to offer him a spot. Worked out well for them, I say. Most of the big programs that wanted him had gone other direction by now. Great pickup!

APB's usually are.. At least that's my perception.

Leach generally gets his RB's 15-20 touches a game with the majority passes not runs up the middle.

It's kind of why his offense does struggle in the redzone but they do score.
