Gator fans are drunk off of Kool-aid today.

Emory Jones is a more highly ranked recruit than Matt Corral

i wonder if Shea Patterson will start at Michigan next year? He did leave Ole Miss to play for a championship and in a bowl game. Same with Van Jefferson, I guess.

Probably so. He left Ole Miss to become a starting QB so I can't imagine that he'd go to a place where he couldn't start.

Van Jefferson
I don't blame back-ups that leave for a chance to start at a lesser program.

If he wants to play in a bowl game, can't be a better destination than UF!

Can you tScared ladies take this shite to the tRant instead of the recruiting board, please?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Looks to me like UF flipped a QB that's afraid of a little competiton. Where have I seen that before?

I agree. This is supposed to be a no troll area. I hope we can find one place for some serious conversation.

I wouldn't like it if I were LSU, honestly. Look what Mullen did with Dak and Fitz. Neither were highly ranked QBs. Jones is highly ranked and seems to have all the skills Mullen needs to run his offense. He could be scary.

He didn’t recruit Corral
He flew out to meet him at his house to tell him he was being recruited anymore? Sounds legit.

I know you guys want to feel like you got some great victory, but look:
We just got a Quarterback that's ranked higher than Corral.
We got a QB who is a better fit for the system of Corral.
He was on campus less than 24 hours after Corral de-commed.
Mullen never wanted Corral, man. He didn't call him (it took him a week before actually talking to him) and met with QB prospects before meeting with him.
Corral was Plan B or even C for Mullen since the very beginning, and that we have a better QB just amplifies that narrative.

Let’s just agree Florida got the best QB for their system and Ole Miss got the best QB for their system.

Was there onsite for the commitment - was pretty obvious as soon as he named the two schools which one he was committing to. (Told the UF fans next to our table ...) His voice/tone was up for the comment about UF and almost tailed off as soon as he said anything about FSU. Good get Gators! I still think he's a bit of a project, but a really talented kid.

He also set Jones visit the same day as Corrals.
He waited almost a month to go see Corral.
Corral, was his back up plan. Clearly he wanted Jones more. Corral was an easy keep if Dan wanted him to be. Clearly, he was behind Jones and FIelds. Jones may be second, but it's to Fields who Dan went in home to visit. Corral was plan C.

I actually think Corral is less of a project than he is -- I feel like Corral is ready to play day one and Emory will need the Summer to be brought up to speed.
If anyone can do it, it's the guy with two Quarterbacks on the covers of NCAA for Playstation.

This we can agree on. Both schools won here.

Could also be a total bust at QB. Both Ohio State and Bama were telling him he's a safety. Main reason he ended up not really considering either.

I agree with you that Corral is likely ready sooner. Not sure that EJ is ready in year one, but I'll agree... if anyone can do it... Mullen can. He's a great fit for what he wants to do... it all comes down to how much he can get the game to slow down for him.
Not sure what time Dean is committing (already left the event), but my guess is you guys get him as well.

I don’t understand why Corral is being discussed in a thread about Emory Jones. Mullen and Corral parted ways, I tend to think it was mutual. Corral wasn’t a scheme fit and wanted a better “fit” and Mullen didn’t like some things about Matt. At the end of the day, Matt’s Dad was quoted as saying Matt gave Florida 100% commitment (which is a lie, he was taking visits), but didn’t receive 100% commitment in return from the new staff. That’s fine, these things happen in recruiting and Matt is a great talent. Wish him the best!
On the other hand, Florida got a guy Mullen has liked for years, was Emory’s 1st major offer at MSU. Emory is a great fit for what Mullen wants to do at Florida. This is UF’s biggest recruiting win in some time given the coaching transition and general situation. Tons of credit goes to Dan and the new QB coach Brian Johnson.
Everyone wins.

Several schools (Georgia included) told Cam he was a TE.
And Fitz got a couple of offers from schools besides MState.....the other schools wanted him as a WR, which he played primarily in high school.

Lok, if you want to troll Florida fans go to the main board. That's about all that goes on there, anyway. Just tell the Florida fans congratulations on the signing. I am willing to bet that Dan Mullen can spot QB talent.
Remember, Ohio State had a NFL WR at QB, and Alabama has not had huge success at QB.
