Roberts, who said he is 6-feet-6, 330 pounds, is the No. 8 guard and No. 148 overall recruit nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite. He starts at guard for North Shore, which won the Texas 6A D-I state championship in 2019. Prior to that season, he attended Lenexa (Kan.) St. Thomas Aquinas.

Roberts is commitment No. 9 for Auburn in the 2021 recruiting class. The Tigers now are 20th in the class rankings, up from No. 25. They were 50th just two weeks ago.

Roberts chose Auburn over numerous programs, namely Oklahoma State. At various points in his recruitment, Alabama and LSU each were considered the favorite.

Oline recruiting looking a lot better with Bicknell. Now we need to lock in some big time OT recruits.

Not at offensive line. It has been terrible. And offensive line is what builds championship teams.

Probably the Brockermeyers. We need a high quality OT and C. We're obviously underdogs in both of those recruitments, but I don't think we're dead in the water yet

Malzahn's oline recruiting has been mediocre and there was a year or two when he didn't sign anywhere close to enough olinemen for some reason.

Either he's under valued the importance of an SEC caliber line, or maybe HE scouts the talent & makes the decisions on who they take when his position coach should be doing it? But he damn sure didn't recruit to the downhill power run scheme that he loves to run.

The offense he runs isn't highly regarded with NFL scouts, which makes it hard to recruit quality OL. Past few years the staff felt confident about several big targets but ultimately didn't land them, and then missed on some of the backup options as well. There were also some key injuries in the position group that just exasperated the depth issues, which made the on-the-field product look less than optimal. Our previous OL coach was an 4'9 100lb 80 year old white dude, so recruiting wasn't really his thing anymore and it seemed like he couldn't relate with his players.

Malzahn and the staff dropped the ball on numerous occasions regarding OL recruiting, but it wasn't due to ignorance of the importance of the position.

Looks like a grown man.

Congrats to Auburn. I hate to see them pulling in good OLinemen. It is their biggest need, and I liked it when it remained their biggest need.

Not really, his own players on the Online said Auburn didn't prepare them properly for the NFL.
