Everyone needs to stop flaming in the recruiting threads. Take it to the other flame boards. Recruiting needs to stay clean please.

A hurricane has sustained 74mph winds.

Except they don't play the same position.

For who?
This is pretty basic stuff wade...
You have a coach who cares enough about practice to kill a kid... embrace it man I don't see why it gets you so pressed.

You have any proof of that?

Operator is ultimately responsible for understanding the parameters for the equipment they're using.

It is. Just not the way you think it is.

I'm not pressed. I'm just calling you a liar.

Dude.. Kelly is responsible for that kids death, he didn’t want it to happen and I’m sure he felt horrible, but he definitely has some culpability. Now I’d take Kelly in a heartbeat at Arkansas (I’m also a shitbag) and I believe he will do great things for you guys, potentially even win you guys a natty or 2 before he’s done, but let’s not act like Brian Kelly is a saint. What he is is a damn good football coach.

Notre Dame was lucky the family decided not to sue. More information below. Lastly - yes you seem bizarrely upset about this for some reason.
I'm not pressed. I'm just calling you a liar.
Notre Dame found guilty of safety violations...
Forbes estimates Notre Dame would have paid out $30 million if the family decided to sue for wrongful death...
Notre Dame failed to provide appropriate training for lift operators.
quote:
Still, attorney David L. Kwass said the Notre Dame accident clearly violated those industry standards and other rules of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration. "If there were indeed gusts up to 50 mph, which is what was reported, then it was completely inappropriate to put an operator at height in a scissor lift. That should never, never, never have occurred," said Kwass, chairman of the American Association for Justice's crane and aerial lift litigation group.

Why?
Was he the direct supervisor? Did he force that man into the lift and make him raise it up under threat?
If you're going to call someone a killer you need some proof.

That's fricking fascinating. I don't see anything in here blaming Kelly.

I'm going to leave it at this one because you either don't understand how responsibility works within organizations in which case I can't fix dumb, or you are purposely trolling at this point. Reading the below, BK made the final call to practice outside contrary to the wishes of the video system technician. There was no wrongful death lawsuit, and both ND and BK are lucky there wasn't.

Coach Brian Kelly told Marquell he decides whether to practice outside, relying "on information from my support staff."

A wrongful death is a death that is caused by the negligence or misconduct of an individual or company. So the first step in this entire mess is to determine if Notre Dame officials (e.g. Head Coach Brian Kelly, Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick, others associated with athletic facilities or administration that were present that fateful Wednesday afternoon) acted negligently in allowing Mr. Sullivan to continue his videography of football practice during 50-mph winds before the lift he was standing on collapsed to the ground.
quote:
“Gust of wind up to 60mph ... I guess I’ve lived long enough,” he tweeted after learning that practice would be held outside. He also expressed his displeasure to a member of the football staff. “Aw, man, this sucks,” he said after learning about the outdoors assignment, according to the report.
quote:
“When I walked into the office, I was informed by Tim Collins that we would be practicing outside, contrary to his judgment,” Frank told the investigator. “When we were outside, I was instructed by Tim to only raise my lift halfway up.”

Damn. He should have refused to operate equipment in conditions it wasn't meant for. He'd still be alive.
