My Son and I were at the game ... did the waffle house thing on the way home.
Cam had us worried for a little while. But the place erupted once we could see the shirt. I had had a few minibottles and can't see real good at distances anyway but at first I thought it was a UGA shirt then someone behind me said it was Tennessee and I looked over at my Son and he said ... "we got him."
Happy we got this kid. He's big time. Put 15 pounds on him over the next couple two or three years and he'll be headed to the NFL. He slipped one time last night and just about went down but recovered and caught-up to his man and made the play ... sheer sudden quick twitch burst of speed. Left everyone ooooooing and awwwwwwing.

Yet...Smart let Dawg Nation come in (the only ones) and do a 30 minute presentation after letting him know that he had to wait on a spot. You guys seem to twist the stories as they go along. It's a .."we got him sewn up...wait...WHAT !...oh well...we didn't want him anyway..."....BS !!!!!! The entire Dawg group was left out of the loop and then 3 minutes before he announced Smart did another commitment to soften the blow....give me a friggin' break !!!!

It's not about that. It's a simple...you thought you had him and then you didn't...so...it became a "we didn't want him ..we didn't have a spot...we told him he would have to wait.." and any number of other excuses except. "Hey...he picked you guys and we wanted him". You guys have killed it recruiting the last two years. That is a fact. I don't know why you guys make up excuses when a kid the staff really wanted turns them down. It sounds like you guys are the insecure base that can't see that not everyone wants to go to UGA. Stop making excuses about those that say "no" to UGA....

Would have been better if he had worn UGA gloves, as we weren't considered a factor for awhile now. We might have been in on him early on, but we backed off a lot when it became apparent that he was leaning strongly to SC and he was behind Burrell, Fields, Blades, Hampton, Bush and Hill on our CB board.
That has nothing to do with him as a player, at all, because I KNOW we would take him if we could, but why pick a fight you can't win if there are 6 other fights (well 5 because I don't think we have a chance in hell with Hampton) that are winnable?
Like I said, Smith is a really damn good football player and there are very few schools that wouldn't take his commitment.
