With how down BU, TCU, & TTU are that’s 3 free Ws in state. Add in Kansas too and that’s 4. Then you only need to go .500 vs the teams that are usually decent to good. KSU, ISU, WVU & OSU. 2-3 OOC wins. And the loss to OU. Very easy to get to 8-9 wins.

The problem for him is that Jimbo is way, way ahead of the 2022 class

hmmm...

That's fair enough that I can't have it both ways. You can't say, "no big deal on LJ, we got a commitment from a 2022 guy" while also saying, "it doesn't matter that Sark is behind on 2022 kids; that's a long way off."

And while you are right that Sark might pick up some ground on 2022, I'm not sure there is anything in his coaching history that should give you strong confidence. What's the highest ranked class he ever brought in as a head coach? I mean, yes, yall hired some assistants who have shown a willingness to do what needs to be done to win in recruiting, guys who have been fired from SEC programs for cheating (like Bo Davis, as one example) - but Sark himself has never really overseen a program that recruited at a high level. Can he do it? I guess we'll see. I wouldn't want to be going up against Jimbo right now.

Sark can't afford many classes like this, or that roster will be shite.

Of course, but this is a fairly predictable pattern. New coach comes in late, scraps together a mediocre transition class, and then cleans up in the full official cycle. Herman and Strong both had blowout second recruiting classes pitching that fresh new look in Austin. Core Values and the Pit and then MENSA and now the ultimate offensive machine as evidenced by Bama 2020.

They got that quick pledge from Armani Winfield who was supposedly leaning to OSU and then the Blue commitment. I am sure they will have a very competitive 2022 class.

The difference is that back then we were dealing with Sumlin's slow-mo self immolation through Noel Mazzone and rumors of booze. We now have Fisher and incredible multi-year recruiting momentum.

I predict that A&M's 2022 class is the best Jimbo has landed yet, and will finish ahead of the Texas class, despite the influence that people who want Texas to be back have on the rankings. We're killing it with so many highly rated guys right now.

I never said either of those things haha

I said "I'm confident in our RB room" and then quoted YOU saying the second quote.

I'm confident that Sark's going to recruit fine in Austin, regardless of whether Jimbo's classes are ranked higher or lower. That's not our barometer

Can't wait to watch this dude tear it up. Hopefully he'll be for A&M what Dalvin Cook was for FSU.

Tip of the iceberg. When this is over, might as well plant an A&M flag in Houston. Already built the lines (ongoing, of course), but now we are getting the skill players as well.
