I agree - don't shoot the messenger. This has been a great learning experience for me - it's given me a lot of insight into the new age of recruits, how they do things as well as insight into their personalities. So it's not the BBQ euphoria that I was hoping for, but having someone synthesize how information was coming in and who was saying what, when, and how they were saying it - that's information to me, but I'm a news junkie. I want to know what's going on 24/7 and not just tune into the 10 o'clock news to here the score and not watch the game.
The recruiting process has certainly changed over the years with every high schooler building their own brand and being the master of their own destiny. When I was in high school, I was more worried about fitting in, now it's more important to stand out.

Regarding the Video, he has been close to committing to A&M several times, so the video could have been made some time ago, I didn't see anything to suggest differently.
I'm embarrassed to say I had not thought of the Burn Bridges with other programs idea, that is an interesting angle and I think people would be naive to not think it's at least a possibility. This is a multi-billion dollar business and Jimbo is getting paid 7.5 per year. Whether he is encouraging this or not, I would sure hope he is thinking at that level if I'm going to pay him that amount of money. I don't think Coach Riley would ever do that, but I do think he is thinking at that level.
As for recruiting Carter in the future, I would have to know the family. Confrontation is very difficult for most people and I have to know why this played out the way it did. I'm not going to criticize them until I know the facts. Who knows what is really going on in the background.
Scooby may not make another change, but I would bet a couple of bucks that he has second thoughts. I bet Mr. Philips imagined himself in the Rose Bowl last year, while he was watching Kenneth Murray on TV.

Okies amuse me. They dont seem to grasp that the state of OK is a dump, OKC is a mediocre mid-sized town, and without the state of texas and its players, they would be worse than Vandy every season. Without a certain Norman car dealership, they probably dont get many of their current players in the first place
