That's not really the point I was trying to make, even if they gave him a tenth of a second he still has that elite nick brassel type speed.

Here you go...

Surprise surprise. It's scout that has Buford as a 3 star.

247 has him #3 in MS
Rivals has him #1 in MS

Baton Rouge and Nashville are exceptions to this idea they are large metropolitan areas, not the same as a kid out of college station or oxford going somewhere else

Those sites don't even have rankings on many of the top 20 yet though... None of them have anything on Aeris Williams yet, who will be ranked very similarly overall.

The steals of the class will be Devoriae Martin and Chris Matthews IMO... Both are rated lowly due to early season-ending injuries in their senior campaigns.

Probably not 4.22, usually correct for about a tenth or 2, so probably around 4.4; still pretty fast

Why did he go to Troy?

I think he was just overlooked. He and Osi Umenyiora were both Auburn High School kids that went to Troy.

Troy was his only offer out of HS, and he was also a WR recruit but Troy told him they wanted to use him at DE.

I heard he was at a camp somewhere and ran under a 4.3 with a stop watch. They brought 2 more guys over to time him and he ran a sub 4.3 again. He may not be 4.22 on a laser but I'm pretty sure he can run a sub 4.4

Kid is fast, but probably not 4.22 fast. I like how the state fans keep popping in saying how no way in hell he's that fast. If he committed to them it would be, "Hell yea, I've seen it, he's probably even faster than that but thats an old time they're using.."

You can look at my posting history and see where I argue with Bundy or whoever else when they claim we've signed a 4.3 guy. I call out bullshite whether it's from State or Ole Miss fans.

And it's not "all these State fans" it's just me.

And I have no idea where #1 Rod Taylor goes. Seems to be leaning toward Bama right now, but who knows? Inner city Jackson really doesn't have a "lean" toward any school traditionally.

We do have two of his OL teammates on our team already.

Ronald Walker (2014 DB/WR) from Callaway is already committed as well.

Buford, a yet-to-be-rated 2014 prospect, blazed the turf with a time of 4.22 seconds in the 40. Rebels247 confirmed this with Lafayette High School head football coach Eric Robertson on Saturday.

"We knew he was fast, but I don't know if we knew he was that fast," Robertson mused.

Robertson said the 5-10, 185-pound Buford turned in three sub-4.3 times at the combine. Buford was quicker each time he ran, turning in a succession of times of 4.28, 4.26 and 4.22. By comparison, the best reported 40 time for 2013 Top247 running back Kailo Moore, who has world-class speed, is 4.27.
