Agreed. I want the best players on the field. I'll be a little surprised if both start against Clemson, but it's not like we've never had success with freshmen on the OL. Obviously it's not ideal, but it wouldn't be the end of the world either.

I think it's fare to say that Diamond or Kozan will probably start at one of the guard positions and that it's not probable that both will start.

The two guys we've heard the most of out of the incoming freshman are Diamond and Kozan so it's not all that surprising. Kozan is coming in with a huge chip on his shoulder after all of the shenanigans during his recruitment.

It wouldn't surprise me to hear that Westerman is "a little kicked up" soon.

As in ticked off and motivated? "Kicked up" just seems kinda odd to me

But yeah, nicked

If that OL is what we're putting out this next year, Good God.

I would bet our barn and dead trees that Kozan and Diamond will NOT start.

I think they're just getting a look, because we're looking for some capable backups inside (due to issues with Sullen & Mack).

IMO they're not really out-performing the older guys.

Grimes is getting them prepared to run with the 1s just in case of an injury or just in case Sullen isn't able to get back to full strength or if Westerman doesn't pan out at 1st team. He's doing that so that they aren't in shock running with the first team in a game for the 1st time. Grimes wants every OL to have worked with every other OL so they know what it's like. Don't read TOO much into it, other than that Kozan and Diamond would be the first off the bench if Sullen and/or Westerman get banged up.

The only thing i got from practice was just mor verification that KF will be named the starter.

At this point I think Wallace has passed Moseley. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come in a few plays against Clemson much like we used Frazier last year.

Well, Moseley can only throw screens and Wallace is a true freshman. KF wins by default. I'm just worried if he gets hurt. Our go to will be a kid that was highly recruited by Southern Miss. Trotter leaving hurt us on our depth at QB.

ETA:

It wouldn't hurt too take two QBs this year.

Is this because he is running the offense better or because CM has tendonitis in his shoulder? I heard Al Del Greco on the Opening Drive here in B'ham that he is real uneasy that KF hasn't distanced himself enough from CM, with a hurt shoulder, to already be named the starter.

My guess is they are just trying to be fair to Moseley by not publicly naming a starter. Everyone knows it is KF. However, since we don't get to see shite, it could be that they all suck.

Honestly, I feel the same way. We haven't heard once that KF looked real good in practice or scrimmage.

Del Greco is a moron then.

Frazier hasn't NOT been named the starter yet because he hasn't distanced himself. For God's sakes, he's getting nearly every first team rep in practice. He hasn't been named because Chizik told Moseley he would have every opportunity to compete for the starting QB job, and the last thing we want to do is break a promise to a kid that probably will never play QB at Auburn again as the starter. It doesn't hurt anyone to not name the starter yet.

Exactly. The last thing we can afford at this point is Moseley getting ticked off and leaving the team. KF is getting the large majority of the 1st team snaps anyway. However, like I said on here a couple of days ago, I'll believe Frazier is ready to be a quarterback in this league when he proves it on the field. Until then I'm going to remain a little skeptical.

Your problem is you have refused to pay attention to the players comments on Kiehl during Spring. You are paying attention tto the coach speak being used early in preseason to keep all players on their toes. You can continue to worry like a 85yr old widow at a bridge game if you wish. I will just let the practices play out and see what happens.

I can't imagine Wallace not redshirting unless Moseley can't get his arm in the right place.

Wrong my friend. CM has inflamation in his shoulder. That's hard to get rid of. I want him to be healthy and compete for the job. We need two able QBs. I feel bad for the guy, really.
