Bingo. The coaches are trying to send a message to the players tonight. They have to use every method available to make sure they keep developing, even if it means constantly lighting a fire of "inconsistency" under them.

The last thing I want to hear out of the coaches mouths right now is how great we are. Keep those guys in the mindset that they're jobs are on the line and they have to improve every single day.

Nutshell.... QBs will struggle this year. We will run the ball... a lot. D might be better than I think (fingers crossed).

Nutshell... this is the first scrimmage.

This. Everybody is overreacting.

Plus everything in practice is a "is the glass half full or half empty?" type of thing.

How is that overreacting? Our QB has no experiance, playing behind a very young line. I think my assessment is dead on. Our team strength will be the DL/DBs

Common sense post Kage. Those of you whose blood pressure shot up by some of the coaches comments. Go to nearest marijuana dealer and smoke away and chill.

some funny stuff in here.

I wasn't necessarily talking about you. I was just saying a lot of Auburn fans are acting like we should be perfect during the first scrimmage.

So tired of Chizik coaching our coaches on what to tell the media. I can't take anything our coaches say seriously because I have no idea if it's true or not. Chizik always sounds like a broken record, Roof and VanGorder sound like broken records and Malzahn and Loeffler sound like broken records.

"We had some good things, and we had some bad things. And I can't tell you who stood out on either side of the ball." This is basically what interviews have been like under Chizik since he got here. The guy BARELY lets the media watch regular practices, and they don't get to watch any scrimmages. If you're not going to let the guys who cover your team for a living watch practices and scrimmages, you could at least give them some honest answers in interviews.

Listen, I like what Chizik is doing as a coach, and I REALLY like what he's doing on the recruiting trail, but I hate the way he handles the media. He acts like we've got some top-secret info that nobody can know anything about, yet we get drubbed by 30+ points on the field by our biggest rivals.

The level of coachspeak from Chizik and Co. is absurd.

I like only getting bits and pieces of practice info and quotes from the coaches. In 2008, the last year media had full access to practice, all of the reports that came out were about how the team was fighting at practice, and certain members of the media ran with that, and it dominated the preseason.

The worst part of this is that members of our fanbase tend to hype up every little bit of info we get, and take it to the extremes. No one is lights out the first week of practice. You've got freshmen coming in, learning the system, and players knocking off the rust of only working out and doing player led drills during the summer.

Our coaches know what they're doing.

They don't want any info getting out that might lead to bad publicity or giving our rivals ammunition to use against us either on the field or on the recruiting trail.

It might not be ideal for us as fans, but I'm okay with it, especially if it leads to results on the field.

Other than one season where we had the game's most dominant player and a veteran O-line, we're still waiting on this part.

09: 8-5 with Bowl win, most people expected us to probably miss out on making a bowl.

11: 8-5 with Bowl win, most people expected us to probably miss out on making a bowl. We got blown out on the road against a team that was playing it's best football at that time, against another team that was playing for the right to be in the SEC Championship game, and at home against a team that was still fighting for a National Championship game berth.

Both years, we were lacking talent/experience on both sides of the ball at key positons.

This year, we have talent, and more experience than we have had since 2010. The key is getting everything to click and that's on our coaches, which I have faith on them to do.

Bro, you're in meltdown mode. When someone who is supposed to lead you says you are doing things perfectly, then he eitherknows he's screwed because you've reached your potential or you are Superman (no pun intended). You're talking about the same coach that said the QB race between Cam Newton and Barrett Trotter was a nail biter. You should calm down and just listen to what the players say (if anything).

Scrimmage stats are so misleading. One has to consider - and often doesn't know - the situational work. Was the situation set up to show the D something and watch their reaction/adjustment, or was it for the O? How so?

Fans always over-react good or bad, but we shouldn't. Just my two cents.

So a National championship, Sec championship and three bowl wins, after one of the worst seasons in Auburn's modern history isn't results? We'ce definitely had our issues in the last three years, but every team in the country would be ecstatic with that after a wholesale coaching change.

This year and next year are going to tell us a lot about Chizik and this coaching staff. He's now got "his recruits" and the scraps that Tubs left are gone, so we'll see how things go.

If Diamond and Kozan are out-performing the older guys, I hope they continue to start
