From a free article on AuburnSports:
quote:

"I feel like Auburn is where I want to go and where God wants me to go," said Carlson. "I'm not having any second thoughts about it. I've talked to my parents about it and they just wanted me to be happy, and I am."

In a development pretty relevant to you guys, apparently, UGA has informed Carver they won't be bothering to recruit any of their players too hard in the future. The comments of the Clemson dime man/asst coach really rubbed more than a few coaches on staff the wrong way.

@JHokanson: Per @Rivals rankings, Auburn has commitments from No. 1 punter in Jimmy Hutchinson and No. 2 kicker in Daniel Carlson.
They will obviously both redshirt, but this reminds me of the Parkey/Clark combo from 2010's class.

It's a bit early to talk about kids from the 2015 class, but I'd really like for us to offer Kevin Toliver II. He goes to school at Trinity Christian in Florida. 6'2 180 pound cornerback already. Offers from LSU, Clemson, North Carolina, and Miami.

Maybe I'm letting hopes get too high, but I'm getting to the point where I'll be slightly surprised if Foster doesn't sign with us. Living in Auburn, constantly hanging at the complex and with current commits (Liner, most importantly), etc.

We shall see.

Rivals has a new article up on Foster's visit to UGA. At the end, he says "I'm going to play with Tray Matthews. Period. No matter what the school."

Matthews has already eliminated Bama, so it's Auburn or UGA.

Jody Hill, an asst coach for Carver, made this statement after the IC arrest.
Jody Dewan Hill
" This mess goes out to all the 100's of individuals that have been blowing my phone up about Isaiah Crowell. In 2007 I called my good friends Brentson A. Buckner, Rod Kimbrough & Frank Thomas and told them I had just seen the best RB in the nation play a freshmen football game. Isaiah was only in the 9th grade. They did not laugh, they listened. All of you that are calling laughed. I found out who his parents were and finally had a talk with his Father Chuck Crowell. We talked in the Wal-Mart parking lot for 3.5 hours. I told him nearly 4 years ahead of time that people would come out of the wood work as FOLLOWERS not SUPPORTTERS! A follower is a flunkie who looks out for what they would like to see happen, but what's not best for the kid. A supporter is a friend that looks for what is the best situation for that kid and family. I ended our conversation that night by telling Chuck the following:"Keep that boy away from the University Of Georgia"! I told him that by his junior year in high school UGA would be making them offers they could not refuse, because the Head Coach's job would be on the line by then. Now to the present. Lets pray that Isaiah's legal battle evaporates with his UGA career, and please let me and Dell McGee do what we do best, which is look out for the WELL BEING of our Carver kids. We got this!!!!!!!"

This is the same coach that has been rumored to be in the employ of Clemson for years. At least on the UGA side of things, that info is coming from several very legitimate insiders.

I am impressed that we are picking up such great ST talent. We have learned just how vital that facet of the game is. Coaching staff doing work.

Boulware sorta flies under the radar but I am starting to think he is one hell of a coach.

Hit the nail on the head with this if he said all this 4 or 5 years ago.

Reuben Foster talks Georgia visit

I could never be a recruiting analyst interviewer guy. That was painful to watch and listen to him. The kid can ball but I wouldn't want to sit down and try to speak to him.

Besides all that, if I were a Bama fan I would certainly not be a big fan of Foster's at this point. Why would he pick up Scarborough and take him to UGA with him if he is committed to Bama? This is just some silly shite at this point.

I would too. If Foster is trolling then he is making some stretches when it comes to how he is going about it. If he and Matthews are dead set on playing together, I think UGA gets them both. I just don't think we flip both unless UGA's wheels fall off this year and they finish 3rd in the East.

I agree. I could see them splitting if UGA has a rough season. I don't see Tray decommiting at all.

So basically, Crowell comes to UGA with a drug problem, but it is UGA's fault for actually testing him and making him own up to it? BS! If those HS coaches were looking after the well-being of the kids, why weren't they being pro-active about the drugs. Why was it another Carver kid that stole from the player's locker room. Hell, why is Jarvis Jones the only Carver product that has managed to so far to actually contribute more to the box score than the arrest ledger? Yead, maybe Hill is correct..don't go to UGA if you still want to smoke up because they actually test and punish in Athens.
