On OJ Howard:
quote:
Spoke with TE O.J. Howard, who is committed to Alabama but continuing to visit schools including several trips to Auburn. Howard said he had a good visit today and plans to be back this spring or summer. Howard had some interesting things to say about Alabama and how the DT and RB lost their scholarships late last year. He said he was very excited about the new offense under Loeffler.

Auburn has not taken a commitment from Kamryn Melton and won't until he speaks with Gene Chizik, which isn't expected to happen today.

On Jeremy Johnson:
quote:
Spoke with 4-star QB Jeremy Johnson from Carver in Montgomery, Ala. He had a real good meeting with Coach Loeffler and said Auburn was still his top school. He scored 28 and then 30 in two basketball games last week and will play in the 6A finals next weekend.

Glover said Robinson has taken the ACT one time and is not currently qualified at this time. Glover thought Robinson managed a "17 or so" on that attempt, but felt his biggest priority will be raising his grade-point average in his core classes.
Ouch.....

Andrew Bone is such a moron…he's already written a small update story on Melton committing to Auburn. Meanwhile, the coaches have not accepted his commitment. He's such a fool

That's why, when I saw his committment tweet, I didn't believe it.
quote:
I spoke with Cassanova McKinzy at the athletic complex for awhile today. He said he's 6'3, 240 and he looks every bit of it. He said he really wants to play outside linebacker so he can put his hand down at times and rush, but Auburn may want him in the middle.
He's working out with former Auburn player Reggie Torbor in Birmingham now that he's not playing football.

Some promising quotes from Carl Lawson
quote:
“It was a great visit, always is. I really love Auburn,” Lawson said. “I have to take all my other visits first but I’m really leaning towards it. I love Coach (Brian) VanGorder, love Coach (Mike) Pelton, love Coach (Gene) Chizik. It’s a great place, great town.”
Lawson wants to make a West coast visit to USC and UCLA before making a decision.
“I’ll probably make my decision after that but I’m trying to get it done before the season,” he said.

Other way around moron. My girlfriend had me tell him to back off after he was creeping her and her friends out.
Wow... an 18-yr old kid being a creep hitting on girls.
UNHEARD OF IN THE ANNALS OF HISTORY.

What did he mean by this?
quote:
quote:
"The offensive coordinator was saying how if I hurt my foot or something, he wouldn't down us or leave us or something."
I know what it kinda sounds like, but he butchered it in the quote...
Yeah, I think he was going where you think he was going...

quote:
"Coach Chizik had told me that Auburn would not drop me if I got hurt," Robinson said. "He was saying other coaches might look at me differently if I got hurt and could not play for the rest of my senior season. He said Auburn would show me that once I was a part of the family that I would still be at Auburn even if I got hurt."

I like the sound of this. I hope all of our soon-to-be freshmen follow Cassanova's example (in some manner)

Very promising. Hopefully we can grab him soon.

Just spoke with the Edna Carr (La.) High duo: TE Standish Dobard and CB Noel Ellis. Dobard said he had a great visit and loves the family atmosphere. He said Auburn was in his top two with Georgia and he plans to have a decision before the start of his senor season. He has more than a dozen offers including LSU but doesn't like the in-state school and how the use the TE. Ellis also had a good visit and has the Tigers among his favorites.

LSU is just getting crushed by their instate TE prospects. 1st Smith, now Dobard has said something about their lack of usage at the TE position

It's getting bad over there. OJ Howard had some interesting things to say.
quote:
"It was probably one of the best visits I've had here," said Howard. "I talked to coach Chizik for the first time in-depth, my parents had some questions answered, it was an overall good visit. I've been here a lot, you have to keep your options open. What if someone happened with my commitment to Alabama and I had nobody else to go to?"
quote:
Howard and coach Chizik spoke about Auburn's philosophy toward a four-year commitment and Howard is beginning to understand more about the concept.
"He was saying they gave out four-year offers this year and you never know where you will be," said Howard. "The four-year is guaranteed, but some schools offer a one-year and it's year-by-year. I guess they could cut you if you don't do so good your first year. But the four-year scholarship guarantees you all the way through. I'd rather get a four-year scholarship than a one-year. That's what I like about it."
quote:
Four-year scholarships hasn't been the only thing on Howard's mind either. Howard watched as Vigor High School's Darius Philon was forced to switch his commitment from Alabama to Arkansas on signing day after the Crimson Tide ran out of room for the long-time pledge.
Philon wasn't alone, as Georgia running back Justin Taylor, also a long-time Alabama commitment, was offered the option to greyshirt. Taylor instead signed with Kentucky.
"I saw that, I don't know what really happened with it, but I looked at it and wondered could it happen with me?" Howard said. "It probably could, it probably couldn't, but I still take everything like that into consideration."
