What weight did he come in at? 155?

Probably more along the lines of 150. He's gotten a ton more muscle tone since he's been there.

Besides, we don't really need him to gain weight since he can do so many things successfully where he's at right now.

Rashaan Evans, an athletic defensive end/outside linebacker from Auburn High School, needs some advice on the recruiting process, he can always turn to his father.

“He just tells me that a lot of teams are probably going to be coming after me and just to stay low and continue to stay focused,” Evans said.

Evans, 6-foot-4 and 212 pounds, is receiving early interest from Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech and South Alabama. He also likes Alabama, LSU and Michigan State.

Of course, growing up in Auburn and having a dad that played for the Tigers, has the hometown college among Evans’ early favorites.

“Auburn is a great place,” he said. “It’s a community. It’s a family. They’ve got a really good tradition. That’s what I like about Auburn.”

Evans, who said he runs a 4.52 40-yard dash, visited Auburn for its spring game last month.

He could learn a lot from being around Foster this year.

I think Mason will. Remember he didn't play in the spring game at all pretty much? Maybe it was Chiz's plan to sort of keep him under the radar.

Luper talked highly of Mason during Spring. He also has plying time and is a hard runner. I really like Mason myself. Should be an interesting year for Auburn's backfield.

Yea, he would've been Alabama's 3rd leading receiver in 2011.

Second most receptions last year on the team with 32. Although last years receiving stats were abysmal.

Mason has been putting on a lot of weight. I still think it is

1- Corey Grand
2- Mike Blakely 2b- Ont. McRib
3- Tre Mason
4- Jovon Robinson

I honestly don't think we'll have a so-called starter for the opener. Now somebody may jump up and grab the starting spot a few games into the season, but I think it will be RB by committee the first couple of games.

FTR, I'm really eager to see what J. Robinson can do. Think Ronnie Brown minus some of the speed. Dude's gonna be a heck of a back here.

Yeah; I can bet you about $50 that Mason wont be behind 2 guys that didn't take a single snap last season LMAO.

I doubt the depth chart really matters. I think all of the backs will get pretty equal carries, unless one has a hot hand

When was the last time this happened? You'll see a clear main runner and safe money is going to be on the guy that was blatantly held out of the A-Day game.

When was the last time we had 4 backs this talented who all have little experience? Mason does have some, which will probably earn him more PT early on, but if Grant or Blakely come in and play very well, you can bet their carries will begin to rise

But this simply isn't the case. McCalebb is a SR with a shite-ton of experience and Mason played all of last season. Grant is a walk-on with zero playing experience and Blakeley is partly in the doghouse because he needs to mature a lot.

The only thing that is keeping this from a blatant McCalebb/Mason one-two is the fact that McCalebb doesn't fit a more traditional offense as well physically.

McCalleb will have a role in this offense... we're going to be way more multiple than people are thinking... not as much as in under Malzahn, but we'll be the shot-gun quite a bit and run Frazier on designed option plays.

We'll get OM the ball... if Loeffler doesn't, he won't be doing his job very well.

Wasn't talking about McCalebb, I was implying Robinson. I keep McCalebb separate because he is more of a specialty back.

Has it crossed your mind that Grant or Blakely could possibly be better than Mason once they get some PT?

Grant is not 'good enough' to blatantly jump Mason (by that I mean that he'd need to be clearly better, which he wont be) and Blakeley isn't going to be bumping anyone when he has stuff off the field that he needs to work on.

Oh, OK...so we're going to have 4 backs all getting equal touches and then McCalebb as well playing a specialty role and also getting his touches. I didn't realize that Loeffler has schemed up some new offense that allows him to play with 3 footballs at once.
