Alabama continued its evaluation of top 2014 prospects earlier this week with the Crimson Tide extending an offer to Hinesville (Ga.) Liberty County five-star linebacker Raekwon McMillan.

The 6-foot-3, 236-pounder, who already held double-digit offers from many of college football’s elite programs, becomes the twelfth of fourteen 247Sports class of 2014 five-star prospects to receive an offer from Alabama to this point.

“Coach Lance Thompson called my coach and gave him the information that I was offered by them,” said McMillan. Alabama is a really big offer for me. I know if I were to go there, it would be an honor to play for Nick Saban.”

The south Georgia standout has drawn comparisons to another five-star linebacker prospect and is attracted to Alabama’s recent on-field success.

“The coaches have been telling me they would like to have me at Alabama and that they like the way I play. They compare me to Reuben Foster all the time. They’ve won two of the last three national championships and have a great defense.”

With offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and South Carolina, McMillan is taking a measured approach to recruiting and remains open to all suitors.

“I haven’t really thought about it yet. I’m taking this recruiting process one day at a time. I’m taking it easy and going into my junior year, so I’m just worried about playing football right now. I’m open to everybody.”

McMillan recently visited Athens to take in one of the Bulldogs’ prospect camps and plans on taking a handful of other visits this summer.

“I’m probably going to Auburn in July. That will probably be the only camp I actually compete in, but I’m going to visit some other colleges, too. I’m probably going to visit Clemson, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, and I’m trying to get to Ohio State again.”

The Peach State five-star also recently committed to playing in the Under Armour All-America game and plans to announce his commitment at the game, which will take place in January of 2014.

“It’s a blessing and a great honor to be able to go that already. I’m only in the class of 2014, so it’s great that people are starting to notice my play. I’m going to commit at the Under Armour All-American game.”

McMillan has a grade of 98 from 247Sports and is ranked as the no. 14 2014 prospect in the nation, regardless of position.
