Dejon Funderburk (3* WR teammate of Darius Paige) commited to South Alabama today. A bit of a head scratcher.

Funderburk listed a Top 3 of Auburn, Clemson, and FSU just a few days ago

How could those schools possibly hope to compete with the mighty Jags of USA?

Demarcus Bingham, wide receiver from Foley High School in Ala., was one of the top overall performers at the 7-on-7 tournament held this past weekend at the University of Alabama. The 2014 prospect is receiving a lot of early interest.
quote:
“I don’t have any offers yet,” said Demarcus Bingham. “There are some schools who are on me pretty hard though. Schools like Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Texas Tech and Louisiana-Lafayette are showing a lot of interest.
“My favorite school is Alabama. That’s my top school. I want to take a trip down to LSU to see what they are like."
Bingham talked more about his high interest in the Crimson Tide.
“There is nothing not to like about them,” he said. “I know a lot of the coaching staff. They have what I want to major in (Business). The have good facilities. I like coach Saban. A couple of players I know have gone there and to the NFL There is just nothing I don’t like about them.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pund prospect has camped at Auburn and UAB. He plans on camping at LSU and Ole Miss in July.
Bingham talked about his strengths and the area of his game he wants to improve.
"My strengths are my hands, vertical and strength," he said. "Everything is good except my footwork. That’s the main thing I want to improve.”

5-star DT Montravius Adams enjoyed his trip to Tuscaloosa this past weekend. He spent time with the coaching staff, got to know some players and even watched some film. Find out where the Tide ranks in Adams' mind here:
quote:
Montravius Adams says he's glad he went to Tuscaloosa to get to know Alabama coaches better and see more of what the Crimson Tide has to offer.
"It was a good visit. I hung out with the coaches and some players. We talked a lot. I watched film with them and I learned some plays."
Adams says he was particularly intrigued by the way Alabama says they would use him on the next level.
"I really like Marcell Dareus and what he does. That's how they want to use me at Alabama and they showed me how it would be. They said they could get me on the field early and I would play a lot."
Adams doesn't know exactly where Alabama ranks for him right now but he gives us an idea here:
"I'm not going to say an official top three or anything right now but they are right up there in between Auburn and Clemson probably. I really liked my visit and it moved them up more."
Adams wants to see a few of his favorite schools before the summer is over.
"I want to see Auburn and Clemson again and maybe Florida too. I will probably go back to Alabama too because they want my mom to come and see it and she wants to go there."

Raekwon McMillan, linebacker from Liberty City High School in Hinesville, Ga., is closing in on 20 scholarship offers. The 2014 prospect is pushing the chart for a five-star rating in next year's class. The 2011 BCS National Champions are the latest to offer the Peach State prospect.
quote:
“I was offered from Alabama," said Raekwon McMillan. "That's 18 offers now. It’s truly a blessing to me that all my hard work is paying off. People are noticing me for football. I think it’s great.
“My coach spoke with coach [Lance] Thompson. Coach Thompson said he likes my game. They emailed me today to let me know I have an offer from them. I haven’t talked to them today though."
Where does the Tide stand among all the other offers for the defensive star?
"Alabama was actually one of my top colleges," he said. "I have taken a step back. I don’t have any favorites right now. I am sitting back and looking at all the colleges who have offered.
"Alabama is one of the top programs in the nation. They have won two of the last three national championships. They are strongly defensively. They are defensive-minded. It’s a real nice school and program. I haven’t ever been there, but plan to visit in July.”
McMillan hasn’t taken many trips this summer, but he has visited Georgia. He plans to visit Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, and Florida in July.
quote:
McMillan is considered by some as the top linebacker in the state of Georgia right now and he is only a rising junior.
He was considered the second best linebacker in the Peach State when Reuben Foster played at Troup County, so McMillan knows all about Foster.
"Having a chance to play with Reuben Foster would be awesome," said the star out of Hinesville (Ga.) Liberty County. "He is a special player and I would love to be playing with him one day. I do not know which school I will be choosing, but knowing where he is makes that school even better in my opinion."

The second quote in my post above came from that article, but here is the entire thing:
quote:
Alabama has had this 2014 linebacker on their radar for some time and they decided to pull the trigger and offer him a scholarship on Monday.
"Alabama offered me today," Raekwon McMillan told Scout Monday afternoon. "Coach Lance Thompson got in contact with my coach and my coach told me about the offer. I haven't talked to them personally yet, but the Alabama coaches want me to come visit, so I will be talking to them soon."
The Crimson Tide are known nationwide and McMillan knows all about them.
"Alabama kind of speaks for itself... They have won two out of the last three National Chmapionships, they have one of the best defenses in the country, and I think I'd have a good chance to play in the NFL if I choose them one day."

Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, and Georgia are schools McMillan plans to visit in July.
He does not have a leader at this time.

The Dawgs are saying that in it, RM says that RF has been recruiting him to UGA and I'm curious if it's true
I don't know how they interpreted what he said into that. It doesn't sound like he has even talked to Foster.

It's behind a pay wall on the UGA scout board. RM says RF only talked to him about UGA at the camp, never mentioned Bama. I'm on my phone but I'm sure somebody with a dawgpost account will copy and paste eventually
