I just saw an interview with him explaining that he really wants to be a DE because he is afraid being a Jack at Alabama. He also mentioned that he didn't want to end up like Upshaw, dropping so low because he has no TRUE position.

We offered him as a DE too didn't we? If we didn't, we should.

For no one that has not seen his film. RN's HS plays in a 3-4 not a 4-3. He is playing as a DE or Jack basically in that system.

Well if he wants to play DE somebody call Saban and tell him to call RN. This kid is far too good to not play at Alabama. At least there he'll be a Top 5 NFL Draft choice, AND win a few BCS trophies.

If you're talking about the B/R interview, that's not exactly what he said. He expressed concern about playin Jack because Upshaw dropped out of the 1st round and stated that scheme (3-4 vs 4-3) would factor heavily into his decision. He never stated he definitely wanted to play DE although one could reasonably infer that.

Also, he talked about Bama and LSU in that interview and possibly Ole Miss and Miss State but I don't remember him talking much if at all about Clemson.

While this commit may stick, it will be very difficult for Clemson to hang on. Clemson will now be the target of every school's negative recruiting. 8 months of hearing the same negatives about Clemson from several different sources can really take the shine off.

Going to Alabama won't change if he's a top 5 pick or not.

If he is as good as touted, he will not harm his future NFL status by going to Clemson...

At least if he plays in the ACC he will not have to face the best every week...
