Always nice to get a great athlete with a great head on his shoulders.
Regarding safety, I think we would be fine without landing one this year, might be the deepest position on the team when speaking of young talent. I think eddie williams and landon collins both end up in the secondary. Push hard for hootie jones next year and only take a commitment from bell or connor this year

Our best shot at safety has to be Conner. It's between Bama and Ole Miss, but he's not your typical USP recruit that only has eyes for Ole Miss. Our biggest obstacle is our depth chart. We've been recruiting lights out at the safety position the last few years and Conner sees that.

All I see from this morning (well 11 last night actually) on ESPN:

Crimson Tide adds ESPN 150 cover corner
Greg Ostendorf | ESPN.com
The University of Alabama signed three cornerbacks, but two came from the junior college ranks. That made it a position of need again in 2013, and the Crimson Tide addressed that need on Thursday with the commitment of Texas cornerback Maurice Smith (Sugar Land, Texas/Dulles).

ESPN 150 cornerback Maurice Smith is Alabama's 15th commitment of the class of 2013.It was no secret that Alabama held a slight lead for Smith, but many believed he would wait until the Under Armour All-America Game to pull the trigger. After attending the Tide’s camp this week, he couldn’t wait any longer.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back is a huge get for Nick Saban and the UA coaching staff. He’s ranked No. 86 in the ESPN 150 and is the No. 10 cornerback. He’s also the first true cover corner in this class.
Smith has the size and physicality that Saban likes in his cornerbacks. He can cover most wide receivers one-on-one, but he can also give support against the run and is a strong tackler in space.
And if Alabama wasn’t recruiting well enough on a national level already, going into Texas and pulling one of the top prospects in the Lone Star state sends a message to the rest of the country and could help make inroads for the future.
Before Smith’s commitment, the Crimson Tide had landed just one prospect from the state of Texas in the last three recruiting classes.
Alabama now has 15 commitments in this class, and Smith makes it seven in the ESPN 150. The Tide’s class came in a No. 3 in the team rankings, released on Thursday, but it could move up before the list comes out again.

Laremy Tunsil OR Robert Nkemdiche - no brainer
Dee Liner OR Montravious Adams - Adams is bigger and very athletic even more than Liner, also more versatility
Demarcus Walker OR Tim Williams - TWill is pretty good, Walker is very athletic at his size and a lot stronger, reminds me3 a little of a guy we signed last year D. Tomlinson
Derrick Henry OR Matthew Thomas - This was a very tough one, but for sake of argument I just like M Thomas better, plus we already have 2 RBs and a pretty good prospect with OJ to play Hback or WR (*where I see Henry ending up), then add to that the fact that Bo is a lock for 2014
Brendan Langley OR Tray Matthews - easy pick
Josh McNeil OR Alvin Kamara - I like Kamara, but we signed the same kind of player last year in Cyrus, maybe better than AK, McNeil is an elite talent at TE where we have signed marginal to good guys and developed talent
Robert Foster OR Vonn Bell - Another EASY easy one, need 1 elite WR, and Conner is a better S, plus we are STACKED at S

They will play different positions in college so not sure the comparison is valid. However, we will all be able to do a side by side comparison during their time together at AU.

He's a great kid and wouldn't mind having him aboard. Thanks for the info.

They would both fit the combo DE/DT spot at Alabama.

Just a warning for all the fapping that has been taking place in here. A public service announcement if you will.

Which one is getting paid more?
Posted on 6/8/12 at 10:50 am to Sandkhan
There is pay scale by position so Liner is getting a little more. However, there is an opportunity for Adams to get some sizable playing bonuses.
