Could be another Bama/LSU battle for Brown. This time for a kid from Texas. He loves LSU so I'd give us the very early edge. Long way to go and lots of changes on the respective boards to come.
Thanks to the guys that replied to my question earlier.

Tidesports reporting that we offered LB James Clark (6'3 200) from Sebastion River, Florida today. Looks like an under the radar guy who is starting to pick up some major offers.

Thanks for the insight. Bama will have a need for DB's in the 2014 class so we are going after a lot of top guys:
Jabrill Peppers
Marlon Humphrey
Jalen Tabor
Quin Blanding
Nick Watkins
Laurence Jones
Tony Brown
D.J. Smith
Todd Kelly Jr.

Wouldn't be surprised if Parker McLeod is Alabama's second QB commit in the class of 2013 - and pretty soon

He is a violent-arse hitter. If he learns to wrap-up and use good form rather than relying on brutal hits, he'll be scary. Plus another 20-30 lbs.

E.J. Moss, quarterback from Ashville High School in Ala., camped with the Tide in Tuscaloosa on Tuesday. The 2014 prospect returned home with positive feedback following his performance.

quote:
"I went to the Alabama camp today," said E.J. Moss. "It was really good. I learned some stuff I need to work on. My passing has improved tremendously from last year. I got good words from the coaches. I feel like I made some progress.
"I spoke with coach Nussmeier. I talked to coach Saban for a little bit. Those were the only two coaches I spoke with. Coach Saban asked how I was doing. He told me my mechanics were better. Coach Nussmeier gave me a lot of pointers. He told me what I got better at doing. He is a pretty cool guy."
Moss talked of the things which were the enjoyable part of the camp.
"I loved doing the one-on-ones and seven-on-sevens," he said. "That was a lot of fun. The coaches had me and a few other guys throwing for them. I really liked that a lot. I just enjoyed the whole environment down there.”
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound athlete has received interest from the Tide since his freshman year of high school.
"Alabama is a really good team," Moss said. "I like the coaches. I like the whole football environment."
Moss will attend the Auburn camp this Sunday, Mississippi State next Monday and Tennessee next Tuesday.

Last December four-star cornerback Artie Burns (Miami, Fla./Northwestern) made an early commitment. He picked Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. But a few short months later Burns backed off his Alabama pledge.
quote:
“At the time Alabama was the place I wanted to be to play football. I really wanted to be there,” Burns said. “Then I decided I just wanted to open things back up to make sure.”
Now this 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback prospect is sitting on 20 plus scholarship offers. Miami was the first program that actually offered Burns after the spring of his sophomore year. Alabama, LSU, USC, FSU, Louisville, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin are a handful of others that have followed suit. Flash to the present and Burns says he has a top five.
Well, sort of.
“My top five would be Miami, FSU, USC, Louisville, and LSU,” Burns said. “Alabama is still up there too. I doubt I will visit any schools except for camps this summer. I want to camp at FSU, LSU and Alabama. As far as other visits I will wait and make my official visits this fall. Right now the plan is to wait until National Signing Day.”
Burns is just the latest big time recruit from one of the Sunshine State’s top high school football programs. He's watched first hand as a parade of Northwestern standouts before him roamed the halls and dominated the gridiron. Now he realizes that he has to hold up his end of the bargain.
“It’s a long legacy, a proud legacy and something I take very seriously,” Burns said. “It makes me work harder. It makes my teammates work harder. You get to the point where you just don’t want to let anyone down.”
That focus, drive and commitment has turned Burns into one of the most sought after defensive backs in the nation. The country’s No. 18 ranked cornerback is also highly coveted because he’s a big corner that can really run. In fact, Burns is a standout hurdler (110 and 300) and one of the very best in the nation.
“I play safety but just about everyone wants me at corner,” Burns said. “I have very good speed and an eye for the ball. I am a bigger guy and a sure tackler that’s always around the ball.
“Of course I want to play both sports in college. That’s important to me. But I am just looking for a place where I can be comfortable. All the schools I like have a very strong tradition of defensive backs. I am not worried about playing time because that will take care of itself once I get to school and start working.”

Wonder if he feels the pressure to stay in Miami... That scholl sends just about all their elite guys the Da U ....lotta legacy he would be turning away if he attended Bama. Granted his former teammate Amari Cooper resisted the urge to stay home.
Has Bama basically moved on or is the staff still interested?
